I'm a big fan of this one. I like "what if" bad end dlc's that glaze the main character's importance. Also gives a lot of possible lore info on what would have happened if the main character failed certain events or if the main character didn't appear. Total head-canon, but I always enjoyed the idea that the vanguard you play as is a "failed" Hero of Ferelden. They went out, either were grievously wounded or separated, abandoned, and resorted to eating Darkspawn. They became a ghoul, and because they're the main character and not an NPC, instead of dying they turned into the vanguard in the DLC. It breaks canon and doesn't make a whole lot of sense on the surface, but since this entire DLC is non-canon, I'm willing to have fun with the idea.

Darkspawn chronicles could've been a fun dlc, if developers actually put effort into it

If they skipped over all the cool shit that could have happened in this dlc then I will too.

I don’t know how I was gaslit?? That was the full length of this DLC. I guess the really April Fools was that they did this DLC after saying they wouldn’t. Good job guys! Thanks Editor

I do kind of like this DLC in some ways, but most especially how it basically says that our Hero was the only reason why Ferelden survived the Fifth Blight. It also throws an L Duncan's way by essentially confirming that the Joining is a needless ritual that only results in the possible deaths of useful fighters and soldiers. Alistair romancing Leliana seems pretty logical. He would get to know her gradually and she would still have that natural inclination to cozy up to the nearest leader-type figure in the party. Alistair would still pick the rose Leliana was inspired by in Lothering. Alistair would still reject Morrigan's attempts to seduce him, and she probably wouldn't be thrilled about the prospect either. But the Dark Ritual would still have its strong points. Alistair siding with the werewolves makes sense because he would likely feel used by Zathrien. This is how he reacts in the comics when Yavana tries to use him. And his desire to end the Blight is inherited from the Wardens who do whatever it takes. So he would side with the more powerful factions like werewolves and Branka with her golems. Biden's confused again. Alistair is not banging Leliana behind his back, he's doing it over his dead body. Yeah the theory on Harren is simply that he's a hedge mage. He saw the darkspawn coming and made a deal with a desire demon to transport Wade out of there. They actually did bring back burning elements in Inquisition, but they didn't implement them as advertised in the demo. We were supposed to be able to burn templar boats to affect events on the over-world, but for some reason BioWare scrapped it. Instead they implemented the mechanic in the Exalted Plains where we could light bales of hay on fire hoping walking corpses would stumble into them. Lame. They didn't even put the mechanic in the corpse pits where it actually would have made sense. Instead they gave us a "press key/button to light on fire" prompt like they said they wouldn't do. A DLC considered bad but I still like? Ehh. Maybe the Exiled Prince DLC for DA2. Most people hate Sebastian and his main quest which is slightly bugged due to a conflict with the Legacy DLC, but I still like the addition of his character and quests even though they're light on content. I got it at no charge however, so there ya go. Doggo! No!

im confused how is the joining needless
@BelieveIt10518 ай бұрын
@@darrylwalker3976 Because in this scenario the Joining killed our Hero, and it resulted in Ferelden losing against the Blight. Whereas if the Hero had not drank, he or she would have survived to lead Alistair or Loghain to slay the archdemon. In a different reply to a different video I delve further into this in pointing out that the Grey Wardens are not needed, just the magical concoction that bestows taint resistance is needed. The Order and the ritual itself are needless. Only the magic within the consumed fluid is needed, and that can be administered to anyone who becomes tainted to either save their lives or end them quickly. But as far as a forced Joining on recruits who sign up for it or are conscripted? Totally needless.
@darrylwalker39768 ай бұрын
The joining is what puts the taint in them without it they can’t slay the archdemon
@BelieveIt10518 ай бұрын
@@darrylwalker3976 The Joining is just the ritual part of it, and that is not necessary. The only necessary component is the actual concoction that they drink, and that can be given to anyone who contracts the taint sickness to potentially save their lives, like the Dalish Hero or the Hawke sibling. The ritual part is the part with all the unnecessary rules behind it, like conscription, secrecy, mandatory service, or compelled drinking of the concoction even if the person is not sick with the taint.

Going back through videos to comment on them while prepping for the finale on Friday, but as for the comment question I’d go with the Creation Club mods in Skyrim. I understand that they deserve to be scrutinized for being paid mods, but I do spend enough time with them to say that most of - if not all - are worth the investment, especially when I know that the creators behind them are paid for their work.

I love DarkSpawn Chronicles, Marvel ruined alternative timelines this one was unique where Alister was the last Warden. The gameplay is the weakest point of the dlc we should have had a beginning with our choice of a Exalhated DarkSpawn and leading a tribe to fighting a Broodmother to attacking caravans then Denurim. Choosing on how to invade Frealden and leading and merging other tribes too capturing people and giving ranks to strengthen your Forces.

Can you imagine how crazy it would be if this darkspawn was awakened and had actual character to it. Or if their was just one shred of unique gameplay to this dlc besides just the alternate reality.
