I've never had invested in sub before ... a week ago the Eris sub8BT came up in my Amazon listings for $149 i gave it a shot... Made my 2x Bose S1pro+ .... Although the Bose goes down 17hz and the sub "say" It's goes down to 30 BUT it's soo powerful. If these 8 are anything like the 8in sub?!😳 I even use it outside. It's a great find! You can EQ the Presonus to sound however you like. I left them flat because the Yamahas had no EQ to adjust 👍

I was shopping for a low Hz subwoofer, and new monitors, and was very surprised to learn the new Presonus stuff just landed. I think some folks, as I did at first, could be a little confused as the new monitors include both the 'Eris Studio' line and the 'Eris Pro' line. These in the vid are the Studio ones, but they also just came out with their Eris Pro monitors that are Coaxials -- the 6.5" monitors are $399, the 8" are $499. I had been eying the Kali IN-8 v2 coaxials, but they were out of stock everywhere. Now I am very tempted by these Eris Pro monitors, both for their sound and features - and that would look SO nice matching with the Eris Pro 10" sub I am for sure ordering next week.

Thanks for the review. I'm particularly interested in the Sub as my old M-audio subwoofer died on me recently. Not sure I want to change my Yamaha HS7 (I think they are actually better than the HS8) yet as I'm so used to them but I'll keep an eye on the new Eris Pro 8. They seem really interesting as a secondary set of monitors in my case.

Yes my mistake for the mixup! They’re extremely similar in sound appearance, & build quality, so hs8 results wouldn’t change much either way 👍

1:25 KARRA - Move your body .. I would love to hear a test where they're tuned to max performance in bass and as clear/clean/airy as possible and then compare it to the flat settings used in this video. A test song could be "REZZ - Edge"

I am eyeballing a set of used Yamaha Hs80m's which I could score for $330. Just now discovered these exist and having some doubts. The used Yamaha's fit my budget better, but these appear to be a bit more bass heavy, which I absolutely like. Any thoughts between these two?

can you turn off the blue light that's on the front panel of the speakers? It's a privacy issue with all new divices coming with blue led lights as part of the LiFi system.

Both really good but that sub definitely bass things out but still kept clear which gave it a very clean sound while the others were more sound less bass in my opinion

They’re probably too new of a model to have dedicated wall and ceiling mount accessories, but it will likely work with some generic speaker mounting stuff if you research what people use to hang other brands of 8” monitors

presonus have a good amount a low mid and high bass, that seems to remove some punch in the kicks. Yamaha, because they sound thin on that frequency range, seem to have good kicks. I wonder also, because I have both front ported and rear ported designe studio monitors. I tend to think that if you're not close to walls, front ported speakers and monitors tends to lose bass. Like, they were made to ben next to a wall where rear ported speakers don't work well there. So maybe in you review.. that happened to the Eris. So my theory is.. if you have space between the wall and the speaker... rear ported design would get better results in bass.

How are they compared to the previous Eris E8 XT ? I was all ready to jump on a pair of those but suddenly these new Studio 8’s emerged. Is it me or the Studio 8’s are lacking in treble / high frequencies ? What I liked in the E8 XTs the extended boost in bass and treble, I hate a flat sounding speakers. So are these new ones more neutral or are they the same / better ? Also - is it still class A/B amplification or is it the awful class D ?

As soon as the sounds are captured by a mic, from ANY source, and converted to ANY format, and then PLAYED back on ANY other system (unless the systems are the EXACTLY the same)... the sounds will not be perceived the same. The only person/device that could tell the difference is THE-ONE-IN-THE-SAME-ROOM at the time of playback. The audio quality(s) heard will only ever be as good as the device(s) they are played on.
