The best controller for Cubase 12 - after the production of the Steinberg CC121 has ceased - for me is the PreSonus FaderPort V2 (one fader) together with the new version (08.08.2023) of the midi remote script written by Werner Mairegger with the extensions written by Christian Oestmann. The new version of this script can be found in the Cubase Steinberg Forum under the topic "PreSonus FaderPort 2 (2018) midi remote script".

Your comment took me to this extension. You're abosoluty right. It's amazing!! Thanks.

Now with Cubase 12 and their MIDI remote feature, there is a script for it on Steinberg forum (can't post a link because then the post is not published for some reason - just search for it) that fixes all of the issues and Faderport v2 works flawlessly in Cubase. Including the motorised fader - it always gets set based on a channel that you click!

Thanks for the video! I'm getting my Faderport by next week and I'm excited to try it out with Cubase! Thanks for the insight mate!

Did you end up getting the faderport and how did you find it with Cubase?
4 жыл бұрын
@@hafeezjamal5742 yes it's in use for nearly a year now and I'm really happy with it! I'm mainly using it when I compose new tracks to easily adjust levels while tracking ideas. If the projects get bigger I end up not using it anymore because the integration when you have a lot of tracks could be better with the fader port. I'd need to scroll down on it till I reach the track I want to adjust and it just takes too long. But yeah, it's a big helper in the beginning of projects :)

It has its own DC block from AC outlet. USB 2 with no USB power. So two cables.

Good video! You can also hit the shift and press the scroll then use therurn nob to zoom in and out. Also if you press fwrd & Rewind at the same time, it will bring your cursor to the beginning of the project. This is info is for cubase. One more thing to add. You may encounter an issues when using an instrument track, and everytime you touch any given button on the faderport, you hear a midi note hit of that instrument. This can be fixed by going into touch studio settings, and de-selecting the "X" from the box in the all midi at the far right, for your faderport. Click ok or apply, And the issue will stop! Enjoy! 👍

After spending some time with it in Cubase, would you recommend this to other cubase engineers or would you think using something the Yamaha C121 is more worth it? Thanks
@Albremen Жыл бұрын
Thank you for mentioning Yamaha C121. I actually found something that is made for cubase, it is cc121 by steinberg, but it is no longer available
@andesneko Жыл бұрын
I have the CC121, which was actually designed by Yamaha as you point. If is probably the best Cubase controller out there. The only reason I would buy another one is number of faders or because it's too big and bulky, or if it ever broke. If you can find it, you'll have fun.

Is anybody able to write automations in Cubase 10 with the Faderport? I can only write volume automations and panning with the blue panpot, but I can not assign the fader to work with anything else. I'm probably doing something wrong.

I just received mine today. The wheel won't allow me to move down a channel, nor will the right 'Next' Button. I can only move UP. Don't you have any ideas why this is? The 'Channel' light is blue. EDIT: Solved! Keeping the question here just in case anyone is as silly as me! I still had it set to Cubase! (Power On whilst heling 'Next' and pressing Solo for Studio One). The light is white now too. Time to make some music!..

@-tonyyu60665 жыл бұрын
Faderport classic can follow the selected tracks and sync to the fader, but faderport v2 can't do this. Maybe the product designer hates Steinberg so much. I think...lol

I figured out how to pause. You have to hit play and then stop quickly. If you do them in sequence, when you hit play again, it will unpause. Instead of hitting stop and the cursor going back.

How do you set to Cubase mode?
@donaldhokanson33214 жыл бұрын
Hey Tom, if you download the manual from the Presonus website it's on page 18. You have to set it to Mackie Control in compatibility mode and then you can choose Cubase.

@silentstormstudios4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, me too. I was about to order one of these for use with Cubase 10.5. The "click" button doesn't work in Cubase? Seriously??? Can't believe there isn't more complete support for DAWs other than Studio 1 for this. Looks like the only full support controller for Cubase is still the Steinberg CC121 at over twice the price.
