Nice job Ram. Smallies also have been in the creeks for two weeks now. The spring steel run was not all that great this year because the streams did not freeze for long periods this winter. Temperatures are looking better next week for bass. See you on the water.

Thanks Brian! I stopped by Walnut the day before we hit the bay and a few guys told me they have been crushing big females in the Walnut Marina since the beginning of April. Doubt the slips will be put in there anytime soon, so you may want to give it a try. Hopefully one day I will be back to Erie and we can reunite on Elk!

@@ramoutdoors8204 I fished the Marina last week with another guy and we came up empty, it was a cool day so that may have pushed them deep. I will try to get up next week if all goes well. Just an FYI, I went to boot camp in Great Lakes IL, that place if hot and humid in the summer and cold as hell in the winter. Stay safe and see you on the water.

Ram Outdoors another thought for you - if you are still in the SE WI area we should try to get you hooked up with Mike Smith from Dick Smith’s Bait Shop and/or John H of Waters Edge Boat Club. Both are in the Pewaukee/Delafield area and would be great contacts for you to have. Mike knows all when it comes to Lake Michigan and SE WI fishing...two+ generations of experience and knowledge. John runs a multi-boat boat club based out of Pewaukee and Okauchee lakes...try Pewaukee for Musky and Okauchee for your beloved smallies.

Talked to a buddy that’s been fishing Presque Isle 5-7 times a week for the past two weeks and he said it’s a 50 fish day on average, so definitely consider it. Btw, learned this swim bait trick from you guys and wow... it was money!

What dock did you launch at?

We launched pretty far into the park and by the kayak rental place. You should easily be able to find the name/location of the launch. I would definitely recommend launching here if you are unsure of the wind/weather. There is also a decent amount of largemouth around that area.

SWPA ANGLING not sure as of now, but I know it was up quite a bit the past few days. If you’re fishing on foot you’re best bet is driving to the mouth of Walnut Creek, I’ve had some stellar days there
