Neither Dave nor Paul were the first to hit four whammies in a row in round two. That honor goes to Ed from Episode 312 (12/4/84). The only difference between Ed and the other two was that Ed's fourth whammy ended the game whereas Paul's and Dave's fourth whammies didn't end the game.

KMOV was originally KMOX until May 16, 1986 when CBS sold the station to Viacom and became KMOV. PYL aired at 12:30 I believe and was "canceled" in St. Louis during the summer of 86

Dave was one of the worst players (by far) one of the worst players in history ever to hit "4 Whammies in a row," beginning with (12:45), then @ (13:03), then (again) @ (13:25), before the entire gang needed "absolute silence" from Peter Tomarken, to change the direction of the game, when that didn't help, because Dave had his 4th and final whammy @ (13:57), who was not the 1st in history to knock himself out of the game, but was one of the few players ever to make it into The Hall of Shame!

Lauren, here's the situation. You got one whammy, $0 and one spin left. If you go for it, then you will need something that gives you an additional spin to stay in the game. Anything less than that, Yvonne would win the game. You can pass it to Yvonne and if she whammies, you and Yvonne would come back, not Dave because Dave has four whammies. Although Dave is a record holder.
