In fact, if this show was ever resurrected, Randy should announce. Feels like a homecoming.

I saw this show taped on Saturday, September 10, 1983. (This was on my third visit to Los Angeles.) I had never even heard of the show, nor even Peter Tomarken, until I saw it. Even though it was only a half hour game show, we were all in the studio for 2 1/2 hours due to technical problems. After the taping, I took a walk through Beverly Hills. I stood on Wilshire Blvd. right across the street from this theater where an awards show was being held at. As usual, I had a couple of my cassette tapes of these weekend oldies shows that I taped off of the Philadelphia radio stations that I was listening to. I also stopped at this McDonald's on my way back to Glendale, where I was staying at the time. While I was waiting in line there, I turned around, and I thought that Mr. T was standing right behind me. Unfortunately, I didn't say anything. I just went on my way back to Glendale. Also, October 3, 1983 was the day after my 26th birthday. In 1983, I was in Los Angeles from Monday, August 29 to Saturday, October 22. I would not see Los Angeles again until October 23, 2015; 32 years and 1 day.

That's a great story. Coincidentally, I'm posting this comment on the 36th anniversary of the taping. I'm curious, what were some of the technical problems they experienced? There are several mistakes evident in the final broadcast -- including a couple of very awkward edits -- so I'd love to know what happened that we didn't see.

If you look closely, Martha Bowles was a contestant on Card Sharks (NBC) with the late Jim Perry in 1978.

In fact, when I was in L.A. back in 1983, I was going to live there for good. Unfortunately, for family and financial reasons, I returned home to Philly. I wouldn't see Los Angeles again until 32 years later; October, 2015

So, the most popular Barbie outfit is a wedding gown? Huh, I had hundreds of Barbies when I was a little girl and I've bought a whole lot of Barbie doll clothes in my day, but I swear i don't remember a wedding gown.

Randy West has just won a 3-day grand total of $25,742 in cash and prizes. How did he ever won that much in just 3 days back on October 3, 1983?
@Tubewings9 жыл бұрын
Dennis Alabaso Well, on his first day, Randy won $8,750 in cash, and on his second day, he won an additional $10,992 in cash and prizes, including a brand-new car (in fact, Randy was the very first car winner on "Press Your Luck").
