I'm so ready for the return of Press Your Luck and the Whammy. It looks like ABC is going back to the 1980's look of the board and the Whammy animations.

In a way, it was on ABC before...in 1977. From March-July of '77, ABC aired the precursor to Press Your Luck called "Second Chance". Instead of a whammy, it's a devil, which didn't do any special animation. "Second Chance" only had 95 episodes and all but 4 of them were wiped.

Press Your Luck was used to aired on CBS from 1983 to 1986 with the late Peter Tomarken. Do you remember watched the infamous Michael Larson episode on CBS back in 1984?

I didn't know of Press Your Luck's existence until the early 2000's; which was about the same time Whammy: The All New Press Your Luck was in production. I did see the Michael Larson episode a month or two ago on KZbin. Right now I'm on the same pace with Buzz Channel. @@Naminski1a

I don't know. There isn't a lot of information of the new version of Press Your Luck on Wikipedia. We don't even know who voices the Whammy. @@Naminski1a

In the ABC Primetime version of Press Your Luck, they will have a bonus round but in the CBS Daytime version, there’s no bonus round.

CBS -while the only network to have daytime game shows has not been to receptive to prime time ones. (Survivor and its reality show ilk is are NOT game shows!)...While NBC (The Wall, Hollywood Game Night, Game of Games) and ABC (ALL of your standard favorites are on ABC... "$100,000 Pyramid", "Family Feud" , "Match Game", "To Tell The Truth" have aired game show formats. ... No surprise ABC picked this up.

It was actually first used way back in 2006, when they recreated Press Your Luck for GameShow Marathon. If you listen to the board sound in that version, it’s 100% identical to the one heard here, meaning they reused it for the revival.

Where did this board come from? This board has individual bulbs around the boxes and not led strips. Plus, the logo looks different than the one used in the current edition of PYL. Perhaps a pilot?
