The pale blue squares behind the audience always looked like those really high windows in a factory, so as a kid, it always looked like this game was played illegally in some factory or warehouse or something as part of some kind of underground game show circuit.

11:17 - Game over for Dorothy. Wow, Dorothy. The whammies seems to having a tough time. Took six whammies to get you out of the game, two from yesterday and four for today. I'm so sorry, you're out of the game.

Wayne was expertly timing the board. Once he saw a cluster of whammies, he hit the button once the slides shifted. His first whammy was probably because he didn't want to get called for delay of game (not a rule, but I'm guessing some sort of guideline), and the second one was bad luck.

Oh man...Joe came close to retiring on his 5th day, but I guess this game's retribution must have had a major impact on all three of them. Dorothy got the short end of the stick and whammied out on her last spin after having played strong for most of yesterday's game. Joe had a whammy-less game, but could not overcome Wayne's ferocious comeback, and led by $2,000+ to boot before hitting 2 straight whammies! I really thought he wasn't going to make it, but definitely turned the tide right after getting that Tent Trailer. That was actually the big shift in momentum that completely changed the game for Wayne. He found his groove after chipping away at the lead slowly, but surely. That being said, Wayne becomes a 2-time champion after coming out of the game where three players tied with $0. The other contestant, Chris Koss, on the other hand, became a 5-time champion and retired after coming out of a game where all three players tied with $0. Joe could have been the 2nd 5-time champion to retire after coming out of a game where all three tied with $0, but...that was not meant to be, not in Wayne's case. Great effort though, by Wayne to complete the comeback.

If Joe would have won with the amount he had, he would have been the first champion to retire despite not reaching $50,000

As for Chris, he made up for his $0 win by winning $21,468 two shows later. So the average of his smallest and biggest wins was $10,734 which still puts you on a pace for $53,670

At 2:47 - This is the second time in the history of Press Your Luck has a contestant buzzed-in and failed to come up with an answer, after given 3 seconds, which resulted as "being out."

No matter the outcome, Joe couldn't come back on the next show. That's the main thing that sucks when you win with $0, it still counts as one of your five shows.
@devares20062 жыл бұрын
Just like on Jeopardy before they lifted the 5-day rule. A tie would count as one of your wins.
@sirharry132 жыл бұрын
But at least on Jeopardy, since you can't win with zero, the people who tied still got to keep what they won regardless of the outcome of the next episode

Why did Joe and Dorothy switch places?
@sirharry132 жыл бұрын
I believe they drew numbers backstage to determine seating for every episode. Notice that Joe was in the third spot for his first four episodes and was then in the first spot for his final episode.

That $3 margin of victory overshadowed the fact that Paul lost $19,722 to a whammy in a passed spin battle with Andrew a la Lori/Cathy (the latter lost $31,408 to a whammy)
