Thank you Pastor Bill and Brother Kody for this nurturing, stunning study on righteousness by faith. I would add how Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13 that charity never faileth (verse 8) and charity is the greatest because charity is the love you talked about in this study today - keeping the true Ten Commandments by the faith of Jesus. Verse 13

The SDA Church needs to corporately apologize for never to this day accepting the 1888 message of righteousness by faith. See Daniel 9: 4-10

To Kody's point @12:29, I think it is not entirely noetic in the idea of believing God will work on your behalf but also co-laboring on behalf of the grace given us by Jesus Christ. Christ Himself used the word picture of a yoke where two oxen are carrying a load-clearly delineating the fact that it is God empowering man and Paul speaks of his own work or energia in the Greek that's cooperating with God in Colossians 1:29. We must never suppose it is man working on his own behalf but always, always, always on behalf of Christ through the giving of the Holy Spirit to be empowered to be righteous as Christ is righteous. I think Augustine has really twisted in Christian thought how we suppose what righteousness by truth really is even up unto this time.

Edit: To Kody's point in 27:32, the principle of reciprocity which is based on a conditional agreement between two parties is how we often perceive of love yet the love of the Lord is unconditional in that it shines on both the just and the unjust as much as the rain and sunshine do. Yet merely because it is unconditionally given does not mean that such love is conditionless to be received. We must have receptive hearts and minds to truly be imbued with the Spirit of the Lord. He doesn't delight in slavish obedience but always in a willing, cheerful heart to do that which holy, just, and good.

Bill and Cody, why didn't you use the Bible texts that actually talk about Righteousness by Faith? These texts below are about imputation (legal standing, justification) of the Righteousness of God not impartation (moral State, sanctification) and the working of the Spirit of God in us. "Commandments by faith" is not Righteousness by faith. Rome teaches that righteousness by faith is a fusion of Justification and sanctification as our legal standing before God to meet the claims of the law. It is called infused righteousness and unfortunately many Adventists believe this "another gospel" of the Council of Trent as the Gospel. Romans 1:16-17 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 3:20-28 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time : that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? The whole idea that we can interpolate human legality as to how we understand God's justification of man shows that we have truly not taken out of our minds the idea of Roman/human imposed law out of how we even begin to broach the issue. Man is not under legal condemnation but man's own condition when he sins is that he is sold under sin and it is only through the divine grace of God and man's own choice to cooperate with God that he is able to free himself from condemnation.
