We loved watching you use the Multiplier for the first time! We’re really happy that the sample template helped you to improve the finish of your final form :)

Thanks for the video. I just had my early-bird Multiplier delivered today and found your video reassuring before trying it for myself.

Conflicted of if I should leave in my garage or bring into my home craft room. In Texas. Thoughts?
@TOA3DPrinting9 ай бұрын
The garage is a good spot but dust will be a problem. Omg!!! I just thought of it right now I'll make covers for this machine lol. When forming the odor is not safe so if your craft room has open windows or not probably think of those things

@@TOA3DPrinting I’ll be sure to test those covers for you. Lol 😉

i bought one of these and im having constant issues with it, it is really hard to lock once i put my object in and because my object is thin and fairly tall it doesn't pressurize around it well leaving ribs and imperfections in the final product, also because of this i can only do 1 product at a time meaning im using a £10 sheet of plastic for once single small item. Please can you let me know how you are getting on with it now and if you have any issues locking the machine like i do, thanks.
@TOA3DPrinting Жыл бұрын
Hi I didn't have any issues but I noticed one other user on KZbin having the issue your mentioning. Try locking the lid with nothing loaded and see if it closes properly. Then try with something loaded but not turning pressure on. if you can get it to lock this way you are ready. Other wise you might have something not sliding properly where the lock mechanism and the frame is hooking into place. I used a bit of consistent force to close the lid when a template was loaded. It might be worth giving me a video call or MAYKU a call to see what can be fixed if you email me we can set up a time to speak if nothing works for you these are great machines I used them in 3 different projects so I know it works great. I'm trying to manifest a new video idea of the machine and it might be worth having this issue brought up for people to fix them self. toa3dprinting@gmail.com

@@TOA3DPrinting Hi, yes i will try to remember to give you an email soon. ive tried everything to get it to lock when the machine is on but with nothing working. we have a fair bit of experience with this type of machinery and it locks perfect when the machine is off. I will email you to discuss it further, Thank you.

How thick is the material after it's been vacuum formed? I'd imagine that if you want to create a dimensionally precise mold, you'd have to tweak some of the inner and outer cavity parameters to account for the material thickness. And, speaking of dimensional precision, how is the dimensional accuracy? Is it fairly consistent or does it vary from the top of the part to the bottom? Intuitively, i would think that the top and most distal parts of the mold would be thinner due to having more of the material stretched out over greater distance.
@TOA3DPrinting Жыл бұрын
The thickness of the material is quite close to the same thickness it started with. I'm only losing a few .05mm sometimes. You would have to think while designing for the cavities and outer wall to make sure the sheets thickness will effect the over all form to be accurate for your application. I hope this answered your questions

depends on where you get it, but will cost $6,000.

@@TOA3DPrinting Thanks for the offer and I will let you know but for now I am looking for my students to prove (with the FormBox) that molding over a 3D printed part is of research value. I would be interested in a SLA mold like you mention and if I do get one, I can do an SLS part.

I subscribed to your channel; hopeful you will have a video after you come up with (figure out) a better process to optimize trimming the part. You mentioned in this video you'll be doing this. I appreciate you doing this video and looking forward to the others you produce.
@TOA3DPrinting Жыл бұрын
Thanks for subbing!!! Yes I am still figuring out the best method for trimming the forms. I had got those trays formed with a 3mm thick sheet and they are much more stable. Which means the trimming process might be the same for cutting the edges. I am thinking about using a router table with a bit the guides to the formed shape but I need to see other options. There is always a better way to doing things.

Mine just arrived. I plan on making molds of 3D resin prints. I read that resin can’t melt and in fact catches fire before it would ever melt. knowing the multiplier heats sheets at 220 degrees, do you think it’s safe to use resin prints as templates?
@TOA3DPrinting2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, It should be fine. It is only going to be heating up for 4 minutes and get cooled right away after. I did notice that the creators of this machine did a release video in the past using a formlabs form 2 resin printer to produce the templates and it went well. I am planning on doing a resin print video soon (I have the same printer) to see how they hold up to pressure and heat but might be in a week or two. I hope this helps. Oh one thing I do want to mention. the fumes it releases is stinker and toxic, make sure there is fresh air coming in the area. you'll notice the smell when it starts releasing/holding air pressure.
@davedraws762 жыл бұрын
Extremely helpful. Thank you so much. And in terms of the fumes, do you think a large carbon filter next to the machine and fan in the window while I’m molding would be helpful? I’m new to all this so any info is helpful
@TOA3DPrinting2 жыл бұрын
it would help with that it's just recommended that fresh air is flowing so we don't get caught breathing the fumes best of luck to your forming
