On this video, we will be discussing about PRESSURE. This is one of the fundamentals that we need to understand once we start studying thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and hydraulics. Moreover, this is a basic subject in studying chemistry and physics so it is really important to understand pressure and properly differential gauge pressure (sometimes written as gage pressure), vacuum pressure, absolute pressure and atmospheric pressure. On this video, we will be explaining these types in a way to easily understand and remember. We will also be solving problems in order to understand the application of what we have learned. Language is in mixed English and Filipino / Tagalog.

Enginerds KZbin channel aims to provide FREE lecture videos, tutorials, solved problems and exercises, news, scientific and engineering articles and informative vlogs for engineering students. We are working hard to update our lessons from time to time. Our topics are ideal for Engineering students, STEM students and engineers who would like to have a free refresher courses. Some of the topics that we are covering in our channel are:
• Thermodynamics
• Transport processes and Momentum Transfer (heat transfer, fluid mechanics and hydraulics, diffusion, etc.)
• Separation Processes (distillation, evaporation, drying, liquid extraction, leaching, etc.) | also referred to as unit operations
• Engineering Topics (engineering economy, engineering mechanics, strength of materials, etc.)
• Engineering Mathematics (algebra, trigonometry, solid and analytic geometry, differential and integral calculus, differential equations and advanced engineering mathematics)
• Chemistry (General chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, environmental chemistry)
• Physics
• Chemical engineering topics (chemical engineering principles and calculations, environmental engineering, equipment and plant design, reaction kinetics, chemical process industries, etc.)
• Career related topics (quality control, process engineering, health and safety, maintenance, etc.)
• Board exam solved problems and exercises
We also publish articles and vlogs that covers the following:
• Engineering, science and technology news
• Personality development
• Business vlogs
• Study tips and advice to students
Enginerds is working along with other channels such as (1) Chemical Engineering Philippines and (2) STEM Philippines.
We are also offering an ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM for students who would like to enroll to our online courses. See details below:
ENGINERDS ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM
Enginerds Online Learning Program offers an after school online learning support for High School, STEM and Engineering students in mathematics, chemistry and physics. By enrolling in one of our courses, you will be able to secure an access to all the website’s features:
• Online lecture videos
• Online quizzes
• Answer keys to online quizzes (tutorial video)
• Access to our online community
• Access to our reference materials and articles
You can start by registering for FREE and access our FREE courses:
Online Academy: school.enginer...
Our goal is to assist Filipino students who wants to become an engineer in the future. By enrolling in our program, the student can study the subjects even without having enough references on particular subjects because our courses are mostly compilation of lectures and solved problems from different textbooks and references. We wanted the students in Philippines to be able to study the subject even if they lack the necessary resources. In our website, students can collaborate with other enrolled students and discuss topics related to their enrolled subject.
Enginerds Online Learning Program is ideal for High School, STEM and Engineering students. Lessons are mostly mixed English and Filipino (Tagalog). As much as possible, we do not want language to be a barrier in learning engineering for it is a separate matter. We believe that if lessons are taught in the language that is most familiar to them, communication will be more efficient.

We basically used different sources and combined them together. This also includes our personal notes that we made while we are still studying in the university.

How come for the last question (problem 5) you didn’t subtract the atmospheric pressure from pgh when finding the gauge pressure?
@aaronjamestagailo4917
@aaronjamestagailo4917 7 ай бұрын
Gauge pressure is equal to pgh. Therefore we dont need atmospheric pressure to solve for the Patm.

Ano po ang naka lagay sa Steam Tables, guage or absolute?
@Enginerds
@Enginerds Жыл бұрын
It is more often in absolute scale. But you still have to make sure since some steam tables are using gauge or both like this: www.miyawaki-inc.com/en/technical/table02 Steam tables based on gauge pressure indicate atmospheric pressure as 0, while steam tables based on absolute pressure indicate it as 101.3 kPa (14.7 psi). Also, to distinguish gauge pressure from absolute pressure, a "g" is typically added to the end of the pressure unit, for example kPaG or psig.

@@Enginerds So if I have a pressure reading on my guage, I should convert it to absolute before referring to my steam tables. By the way, my book of steam tables does not indicate A or G in the pressure column. Thank you very much for the response sir.

@@3dprintwiz378 Check the saturation temperature of steam at 100 deg C saturation temperature. If it is zero, then it is gauge. If it is 101.325 KPa then it is absolute

@@Enginerds Thank you very much sir. Just confirms my reference steam tables are in absolute pressure.
