hi! Why isn't the pressure at point A and point B the same? If we were to consider a datum line along the center of the large pipe, point A and point B are the same height from this datum line. Am i confusing static pressure with stagnation pressure?

Well because fluid is flowing, its not at rest, which means it is constantly losing energy due to friction, leading to less flow rate.
