Pressure Rigger Filler and Spunding Valve Bypass for Keg Transfer

Here's Dan showing this rigger filling bypass set up which is the perfect tool for any Unitank or Fermzilla and will save your spunding valve from being flooded with beer.
At the same time it allows you to gauge and bottle the leftover beer in your fermenter with no extra mucking around or exposure to oxygen!
Unlike the Duotight flow stopper this kit allows you to fill under pressure, keeping carbonation in the beer.

Awesome Dan, I need to get me one of those! Flooded my Spunding valve last week and it is a pain to have to take apart and clean. Also in case anyone is wondering about the power that can be built up in a fermzilla if you forget your spending valve, I blew the entire top of mine several months ago. Made a noise like a shotgun going off! Very valuable lesson. Was a wonder it didn't destroy my fridge.

I just use 2 lead's C02 to C02 and Liquid to Liquid and make the Fermzilla sit higher than the Corny keg. Pull the pin 📌 on equal pressure on empty cleaned , sanitized, oxygen free keg to start the flow/transfer 🍺👌.

the pressure goes back on top of the Fermzilla 👌🍺 I put a small stainless steel weight in the filter end assembly helps as well and short dip tube, a few mods 🍺👌.

Interesting - great to hear of different ways of doing it! Using a spunding valve does automate filling your keg without having to pull the pin which keeps the current carbonation in your beer losing minimal CO2

Thanks Dan, nice idea... I've been transferring with a spunding valve but couldn't work out how to deal with the overfill. Do you think it's a problem that there is no airspace in the top of the keg?? I guess one could just drink a pint or two to solve that problem. Also wondering if you are using a dip tube in the rigger... That way you could serve out of it with a party tap. Keep up the good work

Hey Kelly, Thanks for the feedback mate. The only problem with having the keg maxed out is flow back into the gas line. (This won’t effect carbonation). The only way to deal with this is having equal or more pressure coming from the reg. If the keg is at 20psi and the reg at 12psi then you’ll have flowback. The rigger bypass kit comes with a dip tube for serving. The beer going into the rigger is always the clearest as it’s come from the top of the fermenter (if using a floating dip tube) I hope this helps! Cheers Dan
