So your saying that we should only move forward at all times in music? Never polish or try a new spin on something that's been done before? These guys do sound like other bands but it could be argued that they are a cut above. There are lots of bands who try and fail in this genre, or only write one or two truly good songs. These guys consistently come out with really well written songs that add their own spin to an already bloated genre. That is an incredibly difficult thing to do and I think they are awesome for it. Pop music in all genres is repetitive and cyclical but that doesn't mean that there's nothing left to discover. Just because there's a possibility to develop other genres further, or even create new ones, doesn't mean that wanting to do your best to perfect something isn't just as valuable.
