Rick Perrie lived one hell of a life. Wound up becoming a doctor. Moved to Hawaii. Wound up volunteering and provided medical services at Ground Zero at 9/11. Ran for House of Representatives in Hawaii. Tragically, Rick committed suicide in November of 2004, but he is still remembered with the highest of fondness by many.

I enjoy it when a champion gets retired from the show because of the winning limit. Also get seeing Karen on the starting of the episodes. Still get to see reruns of the show. Thank You for posting this 👍.

PYLrulz1984 makes me apprehensive to see if it is an episode with her in it. Will not watch. What a psycho

Man...considering Rick was starting to chip away into the lead little by little with the spins he had on hand, the amount of spins combined by Rick and David totaled 30(!) without a whammy. It was ridiculous. David $14,758 would have been great to win another day, unfortunately, fell to a strong competitor in Rick, who pretty much turned the tide and played with nothing to lose at that point. What a finish by Rick and walks out with a ton of cash in his disposal. I wonder what happened to Rick right after that.

Several changes began in this episode. Let me see if I can name them all: 1) New intros start. Montage #8 debuted on the next episode. 2) From this episode on, the first shot in the actual episode was a close-up shot of player #2, followed by the camera zooming out (except for the 12/25/85 episode). 3) $2,000 in #10 in R2 has been yanked for a prize.

It’s the $2,500 square that’s replaced with a prize.

Was David right passing 3 spins to Rick when he had 5?

Dan Barker if Rick whammies, it would have been hard to make up the difference. It was a strategic play, but Rick was unstoppable.

I think you got this wrong for #3 Vahan. The $2000 square in square #10 was yanked for a prize beginning with the June 20, 1984 episode. Also, it was stated that this was the first overall episode without a demo spin but an episode from earlier in the month didn't include a demo spin.

This was the first episode without the demo spin. Those few earlier episodes, they cut the demo spin

Stops on $500 and a spin, David casually claps. Stops on $5000 and a spin, David casually claps. Bring back Karen and show him how it's done!

Oh, yeah. I meant to say $2,500. For some reason, the demonstration spin came back on episodes #253-#257.

Was to introduce new stations to what Press Your Luck is about if I recall

Which episode was it that David previously appeared in? I believe in round 1 of his previous appearance, the light appeared to stop on a video recorder on one spin, but the continued bouncing and he hit a whammy instead. That was one odd spin.

Correct. Was about a week and half or so prior to that episode, and it went exactly like that. He hit the buzzer (with the slide switching to a video recorder), the board went to “cacaland”, and he had to stop the board again (hitting a whammy).
