Prestatyn Talacre Walk/ Talacre Lighthouse

Filmed Summer 2020.
I had wanted to do this little local walk for ages but I always ended up in the mountains. After the lockdown was lifted but we still weren't allowed to stay overnight, I decided to do this little walk. It wasn't that little really.. took me a few hours; but it was a brilliant walk.

This brought back memories. I spent many summers in those dunes, as did my father when he was a boy. He would describe the dog fights he saw over the bay ( WW 2). I could lay in the dunes for hours, with my dog, watching Seagulls. Gliding on air currents. Many happy summers. I must go back. Thanks

I spent a lot of summers of my Childhood in prestatyn during the 90s. Made a lot of friends. Once we walked up to that antena on the hill. I suppose its changed a lot since then but i have a lot of good memories.

Oh we used to go to Prestatyn twice a year for the 3 day Hard Rock Hell and Hammerfest Festivals🤘🤘, always had a brilliant time, never seen much of Prestatyn itself mind 😂. It did look a nice coastal walk mind and reminds me of our early walks there by the sea there, resting my head from the cider and my ears form the music (maybe why I have bad tinnitus now in both ears😖). I do not remember the big sand dunes but I do remember a deserted beach. "Thank you for watching" - no problem, I enjoyed it, cheers Alan

That looked a very peaceful walk. Love the sound of the sea birds at the start. I went bird watching a few years ago around the Point of Ayr end. Must visit again! All the best👍

It was peaceful yes and I was lucky with the weather. I walked past the birdwatching area.. heard lots of birds, hardly saw any :)

@@treklinda1309 Yes, you really need a spotting scope there but that's a bit bulky for hiking 😁 I remember seeing a Peregrine but it was a good distance away.
