It would make setting up a Ricoh MFP printer remotely so much easier if there was a "Test Email" facility. If you can't walk up to the printer to test email sending you can do the following with a modern MFP and send a test scan via the Remote Panel Operation feature. Send test email from Ricoh IM C3000 MFP * Log in to Web Image Monitor as admin * Select Device Management | Remote Panel Operation * This will bring up the printer consolde on another browser tab * From the Home screen select Scanner * Select a Destination from the Scan to Email menu * Click the Start button to commence a scan * A scan will take place. If there is nothing to be scanned on the printer and Auto Dectect is selected for scan size it will come up with the warning "Cannot detect original size". Change Scan Size setting to Regular Size. Select A4 and click the Start button again. * Click the Finish Scn button or wait for the minute timer to end. * If your SMTP settings are correct. You should receive a test scan via email

Hi, awesome video! So if one has existing users created so as to use the locked print job features, there are existing users already. only the mail hasn't been added. will i need to start from scratch or is there a way to update the users with the mail as they will be scanning to email?

not quite sure i understand your question. you can edit users info such as email etc. if confused, simply recreate that user. shouldn't take long to do

oh, so sorry to hear. The first step would be updating firmware otherwise we would need to troubleshoot from here on as it can be numerous reasons causing this....continue troubleshooting and if you need us to step in we do have IT support avail at $120/hr.

not on the copier but i'm sure in your gmail account there might be a way to forward a copy of the email to another email. i never had to do it so i can't give you step by step instructions. i'm sure its easy to figure out in settings.

unfortunately, this just lets you know its not going through and there are many reasons such as firmware too old and the list goes on and on....you may need a ricoh tech to come out and trouble shoot your machine..

I have a Gmail account, but my Yahoo account is my primary email. I configured my MP C307 with my Gmail, since that's what you use in the video. Everything was exactly like what you did in the video, step by step. I added myself as a contact in the address book, with my Yahoo account. When I scan to myself, to my Yahoo account, it processes and communicates for a very long time and then the scan goes to 'standby' and it never sends the scanned item. Not sure what is going on....

Something is blocking that email from sending it from the copier. This is when troubleshooting. Could be something easy or could be something very difficult.

@@PrestigeOfficeSolutions I rechecked all of the settings in Device Management > Configuration > IPv4. The only thing that was different from your settings was that the DHCP was set to "Inactive" and yours was "Active." I made that change and it still does not work. I followed all instructions to the letter and have gone through the whole process three times now. May just have to hire someone to figure it out or not have this feature available to me.

@@ItsAnSS dhcp doesn't affect scan destination. It's only used for assigning ip address to machine

no, it should never take that long. only about a minute. turn it off and on. if it continues you may have an issue somewhere and that's when troubleshooting comes into play

Can we add more than one user email address here, if want we have ten members in my office the number 9 want to scan his documents, can we do this configuration in photocopier to select the number 9 person email and send his documents into his email id

in scanned files status it says: Waiting /or trnsmtg. and mem stays at 99% so nothing goes through.... copier is older MPC2800 and only difference in settings is secure connection SSL option is nowhere to find. Can you help me with that?

@@PrestigeOfficeSolutions I did that and nothing changed .... I found TLS/SSL setting in network part of the menu and there it said something like: tls/ssl is not active until certificate is installed/registered. I have no idea what certificate it is talking about and how to install it

@@HummyGG Ricoh has stopped providing firmware upgrades for this model many years ago. thereofore if you already updated the fimrware as stated and still no success, my guess if the software on your machine is not compatible anylonger. there's nothing you can do other than try other means of email services that don't have security requirements.......

it can. i've only set up a few and know it can be a hit or miss. i suggest using the same steps you see on my video except change the smtp server to whatever server they use, i can't remember at the moment, and check that port they recommend. with office 365 you will need to use your user name and password not like gmail which requires you to create a special password like my video shows

that's the message you get when the copier doesn't connect to your smtp server. could be tons of different reasons....if you followed the video and you are still having issues you may want to consult with a Ricoh authorized dealer for further troubleshooting.

I don't have the app passwords on google?

google changes the location of this app password so it can be confusing at time. make sure you have 2 step verification turned on then you will find the app password by clicking on "2-Step Verification" under How you sign in to google.

I had the same issue, and did a search for app password on the security page, and was then given a diaglogue to create one, I could not believe it came up that way.
