Presto Nylonwound Ultralight bumped set strings.
King Doublebass Lee Rocker Edition with magnetic EMG-Pickups.
A bumped set is a custom set of strings with Ultra-light tension.
This means using an A-string for the E, a D-string for the A, a G-string for the D, and a High C-string for the G. Thus, you're "bumping" each string down one position on your bass, but - and this is the key - you're still tuning it E-A-D-G.
Using Presto Nylonwound Ultralight and Thomastik Spirocore C String suitablility for psychobilly and rockabilly.
But what about the Sound? I think the Strings are very loose, so the intonation is not really good. But it is a tonal compromise of putting weed-wacker line on your bass ;-) und you can play very fast ...

been using the Eurosonic (Presto) Ultralights forever. Blending the magnetic pickup with a piezo or mic sounds great

Unfortunately there is no real solution to the problem. You can of course adjust the sound of the bass in such a way that as few mids and highs as possible come out. But the strings are just too loose for good intonation. But for fast psychobilly it is good in any case and you have a good powerful sound with magnet pickups.

Seems very late, but thanks for the string review' I really want to try those presto strings. have you tried the normal full set E-A-D-G of presto strings? Is the tension really high? And also maybe you can provide information on where I can buy those strings online? Cant find it at ebay. Thanx man

Can these strings be used with non magnetip pickup?

Yes of course, you can use a piezo pickup.

That is a terrible sound, No depth. you might as well be playing a bass guitar.
