Good observation. Actually it is just a conceptualised way of the activity. One has to protect the cables from damage while removing concrete. Thanks for sharing your views.

whenever cutting through a PT slab, you should have the slab section scanned first to identify where the PT strands are to avoid cutting them

If you have noticed, that portion of video is for having cutout in a slab which is already been constructed. It shows how make a cutout in a PT Slab. If such sections are designed before construction then that is considered earlier itself.

One thing is unclear to me. When you apply tensile force to the strands, strands are extending with what is obviously elastic deformation. How do you keep the strands for not coming back to the previous state, and therefore apply the pressure force to the concrete? How do you lock the strands after post-tensioning, with wedges?
@ptsindia3 ай бұрын
Split cone shaped wedges are there to lock the cable to the anchorage.

So, doing this allows one to make thinner floor/ceiling sections, allowing for more room in between the floor and ceiling, which can also mean short distance between the floor and ceiling, since you dont have to accommodate for ceiling structural supports.
