it hurt me enough, it almost destroyed me, devastated me, plundered everything, betrayed me, humiliated me, offended me, abused me in every possible way. and believe me, I didn't deserve it. never. I have always been authentic and I loved him so much. he was evil, sadistic, calculating, without any restraint. I don't know how many tears I shed, really. bad and infamous. nightmares, nightmares upon nightmares. I'm building myself from scratch. I didn't deserve such treatment, but I understood as if the knowledge flowed through me. I'm still heartbroken because he could have, should have, would have made the better choice. he amputated me. irremediably. I will never be the same again

You will be the same again, the fact that you survived this shows your resilience, get therapy, and put your entire focus on your healing it will happen slowly, it may take years but it will happen. put all that love on yourself. Look in the mirror and say "no man is going to take me down" shift your way of thinking to "he was lucky to have had me for as long as he did" and repeat that over and over.

I got a very fake, manipulative apology which gave me the feeling that it was a trap. The person never called out anything they were sorry about doing, never showed honesty or accountability for the things that I was gaslit and lied to about. Just a "I'm sorry if I caused any trouble." But you see, these days, I give no response or attention to manipulation tactics. If anything, manipulation, in all flavors only push me farther away. A fake apology is not a apology at all, it's just more manipulation to pull you back in and then hurt you in some kind of way again and it doesn't show changed behavior either. I don't deal with manipulators in romantic relationships, family relationships or even friendships and I am my own boss so I have no need to put up with manipulative co-working relationships either. Edit: I have already silently "forgiven" but I have learned that forgiveness alone does not restore trust.
