I was mugged at knifepoint on the corner of Andries and Schoeman street in broad daylight. I'm never setting my foot in Pretoria CBD ever again. It's a dangerous shithole. A proud achievement of cANCer.

This area is a shithole, gone backwards. Compared to Kapala or some other African city this might look like luxury. At least Kampala streets are clean. Pretoria CBD is festering shithole of dirt and filth. I got mugged at knifepoint on c/o Andries and Schoeman street. I'm old enough to remember when Pretoria CBD was safe to walk alone at night without fear when the best discos were in Pretoria CBD. Sunnypark in Sunnyside was one of THE shopping malls in Pretoria (1992). Esselen street, Sunnyside THE restaurant street in Pretoria. There used to be a pub opposite SARB South African reserve bank building called "Navigators". Live performers like Koos Kombuis, Dozy etc. All this happened pre-1994. I won't set foot there ever again, too dangerous.

@@John-pl8fe Many whites say it is not safe for them to walk the streets in many SA cities, and wondered if this is why no whites are seen on the tour of Pretoria. I was in Pretoria 30 years ago and the city streets seemed 50 / 50
