Pretoria to GABORONE | Intercape | Trip Report | Marcopolo G7 Paradiso

I travelled from Pretoria, South Africa to Gaborone Botswana about the Intercape Mainliner on the 13th of July, 2019.
T'was a very good journey by any means and I would recommend Intercape to anyone.

Wow, what a coincidence!? We actually travelled with InterCape from Midrand on that very route, thru Pretoria & vividly recall stopping at Rustenburg BP Service Station & buying food at McDonald’s across the road from the BP Service Station. We then proceeded thru Groot Marico which sells sumptuous chicken & chips, then to Zeerust & finally are arrived at border post at Kopfontein/ Tlokweng. We finally alighted at Kudu Shell Service Station in Gaborone a little saunter to our hosts, the Cresta President Hotel in the Main Mall-Gaborone 🇧🇼..😍.

Just to correct you sir, they have Marco Polo G6 and G7, irizar century and i6, Scania touring, and some old Neoplan skylines still operating in the background. Their fleet is diverse. Only greyhound has a pretty standardized fleet of marcopolos only

Oh thanks. Wow. I've seen some pictures of the Touring and the old Neoolans but I didn't know if they still had them. I also thought they had sold off all the Irizar Century. Thanks for the correction. Hope you enjoyed the video.

Yes I enjoyed the video very much thanks 😀Yeah they just use the touring for Tourist duty, here in Cape Town I have seen 2 Neoplan Skyliners at their Depot, and also one in Bloemfontein. I actually live in Zeerust so I'm very sad to see they replaced the G6 Sleepliner with a G7 mainliner eish.. Excuse me while I press subscribe

@@theKhumbaguy yah when the G7s came online they took a G6 Sleepliner from JHB- PE and put it on the Gaborone route for the past 2 years. Before that it was an Irizar Century body but the chassis was taken from a Neoplan. My town is pronounced as Zeeee - raaaast 🤣 (short for Cotzee's Resting place) anyways sorry for my babbling, I love busses and trucks

Nah. The double deckers have been designed and tested extensively for side to side tilt.

You can do it online, but I'm not sure how effective it is once you actually get on the bus. I just chanced the front seat.

Your buses in South Africa are certainly a lot better than those in Canada. Bus did seem mostly empty though. Wonder how they make a profit.

South Africa does have a lot of high quality buses indeed. For the most part, Travel around the country can be done very comfortably.

Just less than 6 hours. From 14:00 hrs to 19:45.

I know Seabelo does that route, Gabz to Jhb. That's a reliable company. I don't know the other operators that go there. I know you can get the small sprinters as well.
