Hello Therese, Tim here you probably don’t remember me, but I commented on your channel a couple of years ago about how you remind me of a school bus driver, I had a long time ago when I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s anyway I haven’t commented in a while because I’ve been so busy and I’m also a proud new dad. I have a daughter who is 22 months and will be two years old two days after Christmas this year. I am an OBI in Ohio as well, I had trained a new driver to test the parking and service brakes first like you did, then proceed to turn the bus off. She was failed by the CDL examiner. She was told that she is to start engine, bleed off some air to allow air compressor to kick on, then once the governor kicked off to shut the engine off, then proceed with holding the foot on the service brake and pumping the brakes down. Then, after you start the bus back up, you can test the parking and service brake like you did. Maybe its the different exam sites, but you would think that they would all be the same.

I will inquire again but we were told it was ok…at Middletown…so unless they changed their minds…

If you obtain your class B, CDL… with both school bus and passenger endorsements…then yes… you would be eligible to drive a bus like this one.
