Cooling DDR4 is kind of pointless. DDR3 on the other hand, can benefit from cooling, due to the heat produced from higher voltages. Especially when overclocking.

Does the WB have micro fins, copper/nickel/aluminum or just a plain, acrylic chamber?

I got the AIO cpu/memory floe combo for 139.99+ 149.99 for the 2x8gb 4400mhz toughram. To me that was reasonably priced. 300 for extremely fast ram, a cpu cooler, radiator, fans, pump, and nice argb is honestly a screaming deal when just a cpu water block, a pump, and ram can easily cost $100+each. And yes aesthetics was a bit of my choice but its good to know that in high temp environments this will drop mem temps and its not just a baseless claim.
@hi_tech_reptiles5 жыл бұрын
I'd love those with no WB and in a white skew instead. Skue? Skoo.

actually SKU (which is an acronym) - stands for stock keeping unit ;) But yes I agree... 100% love the normal look of the ram and would love to see it with white heat spreaders.

I’d like to see Buildzoid test this and see if they make any better thermals when overclocked versus simply passive cooling.
@esotericjahanism525111 ай бұрын
I don't think a simple overclock would make this worth it or even make your ram hot enough to raise concerns. I could see it being useful in some sort of server running tons of VMs that is constantly having its memory slammed and heat concerns because of it. Ram doesn't really have a thermal limit target like CPUs or GPUs do, and if it gets too hot it doesn't throttle, it would just crash if the temps got way too high, and I'm sure just a simple heat spreader would be enough to handle any heat concerns.

wondering if a 40mm or 60mm fan over the RAM would have the same 'cooling' effect or if EKWB components offer the same experience with a different aesthetics

I have a pair of BitsPower RamBlocks (x4) for my Dominator GT set. (DDR3 8x4GB) They bolt to the top of the RAM, once the stock heatsinks are unbolted. Good for DDR3, but DDR4 doesn't put out anywhere near the same amount of heat, so I don't see the point.

My dream pc is something that has all the Rgb i can fit in a glass case that is as close to silence as I can get. I’ve always wanted to do a system that uses an external rad and pump away from the system that does the majority of the cooling and not add any noise. This ram, the gigabyte motherboard with a full cover mobo block, full cover gpu block, and an overkill psu so it’s fans don’t spin even under full system load would be perfect. With all the heat generating components covered by water blocks. You wouldn’t need any case fans in the case itself. All cooling can be done away from the system

I overlooked my trash corsair vengeance RGB pro cl18 3600mhz memory at 1.45 volt but it Ran pretty hot like 48 Celsius so i just put a cpu cooler fan on top of the ram and boom now running at 40 Celsius

Recently replaced my Trident Z RGB for some Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO and was checking the prices out and saw the Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB which was £50 more and didn't look as appealing. This from Thermaltake, although get what they're trying to do, kind of. It makes it look extra bulky. The heat spreaders themselves look clean, but that waterblock is just awful. One of the biggest appeals apart from temperatures with watercooling is how sleek it can look if done correctly and this totally subtracts from that look, or at least in my opinion.
@toonnut18 ай бұрын
Ironic we need watercooling ram now especially trying for 8000+
