themk23 I have recently discovered Pretty Lights compared to how much time he has been composing music. It was February of 2016. The first song by him I cam across was City of One. A person who was demonstrating how to create Bismuth crystals used it as the background music for his video and I instantly fell in love with it. I saw the name of the arist and the song in the comment section and then I searched for him. I just couldn't get enough. Every song I listened to was just amazing.

This winter marks 10 years since my now wife (then girlfriend) moved to Telluride for the season. 2014-2015 winter. She was a junior ski instructor, I was a lift operator. That season we didn't get the most snow but we had a blast. The mountains look the same, I look a bit older. We've been married 8 years now and have 2 kids that are starting to ski.... it was only yesterday

This is still my most favorite Pretty Lights song ever because I can connect so well to it. I still remember the first time I heard it. I was on my way to the first time I would be away from my family for a long time, working at a Boy Scout summer camp. I was so worried about what would happen, but out of the blue, just as we were pulling up to the camp gate, this song played on the radio out of the blue. It made no sense to me because normally the radio station was classic rock, but it played Only Yesterday and neither of my parents changed the station despite not really liking electronic music. It felt like a sign to me that everything would be okay. This song became my song for the summer, listening to it every evening, and every time without fail it brought me to emotional tears. I still come back to it and can feel the same feeling of happiness and contentment that I felt at that camp. Thank you Derek Vincent Smith for this gift you have given all of us.
