Is everyone forgetting that at the end of the episode the boy that Ava is seeing called them “the professor” so in other words it is someone on campus and it’s not the boyfriend or Nolan’s mom. It’s someone that goes by that subtle name ALREADY on campus. In other words the perfect example of hiding in plain sight, which is what Alison and Alex Drake did in their run.

This is not the actual voice of the Professor....its a voice artist and they will also use stand ins for the "professor" scenes same as in PLL with A.

It can't be. In PLL, there were always stand-ins in many scenes where A was shown with blonde hair, the black hoodie, the Black Veil, or the Red Coat. Even voice over scenes like when A.D. facetimed Aria with a creepy version of her picture were voiced by different people.

I have to say that I was disappointed with this reveal! Don't get me wrong I love the concept of The Professor, but he/she/they does not come across as menacing at all. The reason that 'A' worked in the original PLL is because A knew everything about the liars, A was always watching the liars, and A was always a threat to physically harm them. After all, A ran over Hannah with a car (before we knew it was Mona), sent the girls teeth and bones, filled Aria's mom's car with bees, and shot Ezra (before we knew it was Shana). During the original show, you could say the girls HAD to play A's game because their lives literally depended on it. Moreover, A had simple motives like justice and revenge. With The Professor "conducting an experiment", the Perfectionists are essentially safe until he/she/they learn what they need to, and as a motive, getting the results to some experiment is a little too 'bad sci-fi movie' for me. Honestly, after surviving 'A' in the original PLL, Mona and Alison shouldn't break a sweat handling this foolishness. All in all, for me, I'm not sure I'll be back for a season 2 if there is one.

I get wanting to take a stab at the og pll but there are just so many parallels between characters it was kinda boring. Mary and alex (either one or both) are probably going to make an appearance at some point. There is just no way theyd escape mona and add that in without using it. I am definitely interested to see what gets answered in season two. Like the proffessor Alison is becoming a TA for. She said she doesnt know it yet but shes "in", that clearly meant something more because she already told her she was switched to psychology. But this is just my take on all this.
