Allot of people are saying they hate Hannah for torturing Clay throughout the series, so I'm going to copy my comment from another video here because I feel like it's important to seperate things. It's very long but I tried to be focused so please just go with me: Hannah is dead. If Clay wasn't already one step over the edge when he listened to her tapes she wouldn't have driven him anywhere. Think about it this way for a second: Assuming that we can call pointing a gun to your own head suicide INTENTION if not a suicide attempt, and going over a fence prepared to jump over a ledge a few months before that, we could see that Clay had been in that place anyway. For whatever reason. There were 13 tapes. 13 people. Only two of them REACTED to what Hannah said by either attempting or nearly attempting suicide themselves, with Clay getting there TWICE. And the only reason Alex pulled the trigger was because he was alone. If you take both these cases and remove Tony and Justin respectively, leaving Clay to face Hannah alone, who's to say that he wouldn't have done it? Watch these two scenes back to back, not only does it take very intense persuasion from both Tony and Justin to get Clay to LISTEN to them, but the second time is much more emotional for Clay. He's confused, he's terrified, he's completely shattered and he keeps being pulled back in to HIS OWN BLACK HOLE by HIMSELF. Hannah was in that same place exactly, and she chose to let it all out by telling them how she felt and kill herself because she couldn't see another way. Both are sadly legitimate choices wether they're right or not which is a very different conversation. Clay is using these words and her image as a VALIDATION to what he WANTS to do. But that's not her fault. She had no way of knowing that Clay wanted to die too and most likely that Clay didn't fully realise that himself until SHE did it, but even the fact that he came outside to face Tyler when Tyler pointed an ASSAULT RIFLE at him suggests that he has no respect for his own life, and she definitely didn't have any way of knowing that his biology would be that much stronger than him when he's faced with what she had to say. What I'm trying to say is that 11 people listened, processed and moved on or didn't but at least LIVED ON. And two boys might have made this decision at some point in their lives even if Hannah hadn't done that. And there's no way of knowing because Hannah was what they reacted to in that moment. But she's not responsible for Clay's mental health and emotional limits. I know it's a long response but if anyone read this far just please think about it. And reply to me if you can and if you want. Let's talk. It's important. Please don't ignore this, it's a discussion that has to happen. Thank you.

They did say in season 1 that he stopped taking his medication so he's basically been this way his whole life. Hannah's death was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

I completely agree and the tapes did more good then harm, not that the bad didn't matter. It pushed them to take responsibility and live on. Like Jessica was able to start finding her closure, which she's still doing and it was and is gonna be rough, and deep down you could tell she knew but she wanted the truth from Justin. If the tapes were never listened to Jessica may have had to live in a nightmare that she didnt deserve, more discreetly as in having to hide and be ashamed of it. There's no doubt that she didnt deserve that but I'm glad she grasped the truth while getting justice for countlessother girls. Justin sure did get worse with his addiction once he heard the tapes especially after what he let Jessica go through but he needed to reach Rock bottom to get better. If he never left with shame after what he let happen to Jess he would still be bunking with Bryce, not attending school, and absolutely doing drugs, I assume. I'm not saying it would be worse than his heroine addiction but again he needed to hit rock bottom or he would've never wanted to get better. As much as I hate to say it, but it must be said, Bryce was becoming or at least trying to become better because of the tapes. Now, what he did was monstrous and way too common but those tapes made him take responsibility. I just wished he could've found it in his icy heart to realize what he did was wrong. I would go on but this is probably already long. My point is that hannah didn't want people to be punished but to be responsible and live on. To be better so that no one would have to go through what she did. How the students took to the tapes is on them. I'm not saying it was okay to put all of them through that but most of them needed to. Overall I'm glad with the outcome of the show and how they handled it. It's a very unique one and although it touches on hard topics, like Hannah's tapes do, it needs to be heard and said.

This scene is the most terrifying yet most beautiful in the series for me. If you consider Justin's perspective, he's standing between his former best friend and his future brother. This is the closest Clay ever gets to revealing to ANYONE that he is hallucinating Hannah, and it's to the guy who suggested killing him back in season 1. As for Bryce, Justin sees that their "friendship" is really of master and servant as opposed to Clay, who treats him as an equal. It's the only reason Justin was able to reach Clay, and whether Justin realizes it or not (at this point) he's found someone he can love (and love him back) other than Jessica.

Clay in season 3 needs help . His behavior is not been okay since season 1 . He tried to kill himself twice . Also his anxiety and depression have not gotten better . He thinks he need to save everyone but the sad truth is that he can’t . For example Tyler didn’t deserve what happened to him but it doesn’t mean he should shot up a school . Clay thought he needed to stop him but this is so dangerous . Also things clay said and did are not him . He was hallucinating Hannah when he listening to the tapes and without the tapes . I know he suffers from depression , anxiety but there seems like he suffers from something . I am glad he has Justin in his life . Justin literally saved him and understands clay in ways other people can’t .also clay saved Justin too . Sorry for the long comment

I personally feel like Clay is going to try to kill himself again in season three. If so, it'll probably start with him going having to be forced to go back onto antidepressants, and go see a therapist once more judging by past episodes of Clay's parents saying that they want him to get help. Which will most likely cause Clay to become upset, and more lost than he already is. Leading him to attempt to kill himself before Justin, and the rest of his friends will have to come to save him.

I agree. I think it is that. But I personally feel like clay always feels responsible for what happens to somebody when it's not even his fault and that's sad. I feel like clay thinks that he always has to be the hero of everybody's stories in a third person point a view but...not his, which is fine but it's sad since he needs to understand that he needs to be the hero of his own story by saving himself. (Which is what I like about clay and I think it's one of the main reasons of what makes him the fan favorite)...I hope clay finds happiness some way or another. Hate to see him so sad

When Clay found a picture of Hannah from the clubhouse and Bryce testimony from the courthouse. He asked her was he telling the truth which we all know Bryce lied about the nature of his relationship with Hannah. To Clay’s horror she said the exact words in Bryce’s tapes which made Clay snap. All Clay could think about was Hannah and getting justice for her. Clay was going to cross a line he could never come back from. Luckily Justin was able to save him and tell him that this is not what Hannah would want. This scene painful and yet powerful.

I feel like in this scene everything made sense. It looks like Hannah is the one alive and thinking and it looks like Clay is desperate and mentally lost. His brain isn't functioning anymore that he is more dead than alive. Because Clay is the only one who can see Hannah in his imagination. And Justin stopping his future brother from killing his former best friend is so crazy. It's just like Clay wants justice for Hannah and everything that Hannah is saying to him it looks like Clay needs to do horrible things. But it's really the opposite she wants him to live his life and love himself. I couldn't imagine missing someone you were to afraid of loving and admitting that Clay loves Hannah and wanting to be together. For me that's the saddest part after all. Them never being happy together like a couple but that's why this series is so good.

Wish 3th and 4th season focus on Clay's mental health, and Hannah was still there haunting him. 1st season he see her but not hear her. 2nd season he sees her and hears her. I wished 3rd season could be more of it.l, maybe touch her or something. But on 4th, Clay start to break and dissociating for Hannah etc. But instead of coming to the same fate as Hannah, Clay will have his friends and family by his side. Clay dissociated and hallucinating was a good take on mental breakdown. But the way 4th season goes, it seems too out of control. Wish Justin health problem got into 3rd ending, making Clay mental health more deteriorated. Ani, has bugger part to Clay health as mental help yet her being wt Bryce causes Clay to breakdown. Bryce could have changed and Clay forgiveness maybe help wt his breakdown etc instead of his season 3 fate. All the people Clay help and care for being there for him, opposite of Hannah etc.

Also it's no ones fault that she killed her self even though that's what it's set up to be, people have lives and cant always think about others. She made Alex try to kill himself and Clay just then.
@darcelhill4 жыл бұрын
Sofia Pawell people have to understand that this isn’t Hannah. This is version of Clays mind. It’s a hallucination. Hannah is dead and gone because she took her life. If you watched both season 1 and 2, you will see throughout these seasons he is mentally tormented. In this episode he kept asking Hannah (the hallucination version) what was the truth between her and Bryce. So she reciting Bryce’s tape because that is the truth, Bryce raped Hannah, Jessica and other girls. I believe that Clay has schizophrenia and people with that can have hallucinations.

This isn't even the real Hannah this is clay imagination. Nobody force clay and the others to keep listening to the tapes. Also Hannah told clay he doesn't belong on the tapes but he still wanted justice for Hannah himself. You right nobody force Hannah to kill herself and everyone else thought about themselves but not if they was hurting somebody else and bullying them. Also Hannah was rape by Bryce Walker he was the main the reason she killed herself like most rape victims kill themselves. Even after Hannah mother gave Clay the why not list he still was suffering. Everyone who mess with Hannah needed to be taught a lesson about bullying and messing with someone who's might be traumatized and depress. be glad she didn't shoot up the school instead.also Alex tried to kill himself because he was there when Hannah got rape and felt guilty and lied on her just like the others.
