I went all in whole food plant based low fat a year ago. I'm pleasantly surprisied by blood sugar readings below 100 every morning! It used to be above 200 every morning on a keto diet suggested by the nurse practioner. Thank you so much for teaching us how to make beneficial changes to our diet!

If I follow the eating program it is 140 or 150 at the highest after a meal. It falls quickly after. If I happen to have any higher fat foods - nuts for example - my levels stay a bit higher for a few days.

Thank you ChefAJ. What a great doctor. The world needs more of such common sense doctors. Dr. McDougall uses tremendous common sense and knowledge from practical experience. This is more important than double-blinded randomized placebo controlled industry sponsored research paper junkies of ivy league universities.

I am a former McDougall live in patient. I did fine and lost 40lbs. Over the years I have lost 90 to 95 lbs and got stuck. I did not eat some foods I had In past and couple years I have fallen off the wagon. I have now been diagnosed with diabetes. Keto and following Dennis polluck seems to be only thing working. When I eat potatoes and starchy vegetables I spike. Even though I eat keto I do try to eat mostly salads and watch diet. I’m not leaning all the way but trying low-fat and low starch for now. After being in hospital, I have lost 25lbs and now too cold to walk, but unfortunately fortunately my car disabled on me, so lots of walking. I’m down lower than I was 25 years old. I tried oatmeal cookies with unsweetened apple sauce and blueberries and I spiked again. Still eating mostly veggies, but not starchy ones yet or bananas. It makes it so tough.

You can blame American greedy CEOs for taking American manufacturing jobs overseas to China along American fast-food joints becoming widespread in China for helping the Chinese become wealthy and sick at the same time. I still miss the residence program where you get a chance to eat the foods that are listed in their cookbooks. What is the point of eating broccoli and cabbage in order to maintain your health? I didn't think about eating broccoli until I started seeing Chef AJ's videos

Dr. McDougal, unfortunately, does not go into detail about why a keto diet is so bad for you. He only compares it to chemo. I think the comparison is not helpful. I would like to know in detail, with studies and visual examples of why exactly a keto diet is unhealthy.

He's covered it before. Keto is a high-fat diet, fat blocks insulin receptors spiking glucose anytime you eat anything with carbs. It's not our natural diet. To quote him, "ketosis is a state of sickness." Try looking for his videos on the subject. I"m sure he's got it on his website.
