How many have tried to actually survive either misisons in hope of an alt ending am'right? I know i've retried ACN's last mission dozens of times... and i've retried Reach's even more, lasted a good 20minutes in legendary, just, running arround the map like a man man and occasionally shooting.

Interesting how in my opinion this is a one of the most sad endings in game history, because you know that all is lost, but you still try. And you don't get dialog heavy cutscenes or things like that, but your heart still feels heavy at the end.

Tell me about it... i played this as a young teen, and it had torn me appart. I retried the mission so many times back then to try and get through with as much ap and ammo as possible to see if i could change something.

This probably stands out in my memory as one of the best video game final boss / ending combos ever. It was very much the most fulfilling ending to any armored core game besides for answer, and along with it are the most "armored core" of endings. Live by the AC, die by the AC. That's the life of a Raven.

Bro, just saying; the facility wasn't getting damaged by the suicide drones. This could have easily been averted if the Raven just went back inside until the storm was over. "stand and fight", but to protect what? The facility wasn't in any danger, and there wasn't enough armor nor ammo to overcome the threat. The operator just had you killed off

Keep in mind that you, the Raven, is standing atop of the Raven's Ark's HQ, meaning that the operator must be in there too so it's not like she's talking from a safe place, not like there was even a safe place after the suicide drones were sent

I'd never played the games featuring Nine-ball before playing this, nor was I aware of the infamy at the the time... yet when I got to this point for the first time and saw that name, my heart filled with an unknown dread

My head canon is that Nexus pilot does not die during this mission, only his AC gets trashed. He climbs out of wreckage and becomes the protagonist of Last Raven.

I sucked at this game. Only beat this once by hiding in a coridoor and firing once in a while until it died. Might be the hardest boss i have ever faced.

It's not really Nineball, FYI. That was a creative liberty the localization team took. In the original version, his name is just question marks.

I think I understand why they decided to call it NineBall. The parts and weapons he uses is pretty similar to those owned by NineBall. I guess Agetec team enjoyed Armored core too.

It's possibly some kind of homage to Nineball, which would be about as deep as "fourth wall knowledge" will take you on this one.

I was so freaked out when I saw the Nineball name again (in my head I was like ,,ah f, its you again??!'). This obsession with Nineball always was really weird to me. I guess theres a Nineball inside every of us, ravens.

Nineball exists as the "Dragon" of each game for us to slay. We couldn't be "Ninebreakers" if there weren't "Nineballs" to break. They set the bar for human players to surpass.

Quite impressive play, really. Although I prefer Mighty Glacier approach. If anyone interested to try, backpack Large Energy Cannon along with bypass, capacitors, and energy amplifier will take Nine Ball down in 3-4 shot, less than 10 seconds

sure but that means you actually have ot get a hard lock on him, which is not necessarly easy the LX only has 10 shots and a longish reload, you don't want ot miss

When targeting that last objective I feel there should be a prompt or two.."Do you want to die?....Do you Really want to die? How badly do you want to die?" Not because of the inevitable death ending but because you're about to face another incarnation of Nine Ball...Have you tried doing that fight without exploiting AI/terrain and just pure piloting skills? Ofc you have, but it didn't work lol

So you know, that enemy being called Nineball is just a translation thing, it's original japanese name was simply "???" Based on the evidence, that thing was a prototype pulverizer which were all over Last Raven and were tied with the suicide bots.

Those drones were a product of the Internecine the weapons this mission wants ot to prevent the activation of(This was the " resource" Navis discovered) btw that thnig is not nineball(Translation shannaigans), in the original it shows as "???"(it's implied to be the very first Pulverizer) however this mission went south in Canon you destroy the devices but somethnig went wrong and the internecine was activated and,,,it proceeded ot freak out when it found an intruder so deep in it, causing damage trigerring a sort of " panic attack" and launch Everything to eliminate the intruder. forcing the events leading to LR

Nineball, along with various other AI guided weapons, are left overs from the previous end of the world. Nineball isn't a character so much as it is just a machine, of which more than one was made. There's also nineball-like machines. This was not originally nineball but it seems it was close enough as an obvious reference that the name got tacked on.

Nexus and onward forced some balance changes on automatic weapons in this case chainguns got hit with a ammo and accuracy Nerf, but were made stronger per hit and able ot induce heat stress.

It was a translation thing. This isn't Nine-Ball proper, but a Pulveriser unit that was re-named Nine-Ball for... Reasons. That being said, Nine-Ball was in AC:MoA and AC2: AA. Just can't keep a good AI down.

Nah. The raven did defeat Genobee in a test run and there is a mission where the raven is tasked with killing Genobee.
