I own 1.7i, powered by a '94 Bryston 3B NRB/ BP20. I heard the LRS+ with sub. And New 2.7i at Axpona Show. Each sounded great. LRS+ room out played many speakers 6x Thier price.

I'm a proud owner of the 1978 magnaplanar ll2A. I was fortunate to buy it from the original owner; I don't think I want to go back to the box speakers anymore! I'm using a MA Atoll 100. FM acoustic of Switzerland Pro p3 preamplifier. My room dimensions are 26' x 18' x 8" I have some sound absorption and sound diffuser. My wife, when she first saw the size told me "I will have to put them up after use." After she heard how wonderful they sound she has fully adopted them into my music room!! I would challenge anybody to take a listen and tell me that there's something missing??

The 3-series gives enough bass for me. But they are to big and need an expensive amp. The little speakers need a sub-woofer, but they don't work very good together. So I am curious about the magnepan sub-woofer. Specially the price.

I once sat next to Wendel Diller as we listened to the Magnepan 1.4 speaker. He asked me what I thought and I told him what I heard wrong with the speaker and that really pissed him off. But he did ask me for my opinion. I think I may have killed the 1.4 because of that. I tend to prefer electrostatic speakers.

You think too much of yourself if you think you can influence whether or not a model gets introduced. Now, I'm not a huge fan of panel speakers but I did like the old ML CLS for small scale music.

Magnepan sells LRS Plus stands if that is what you mean. Magnariser also has stands for them.

Musicians (for example) who love their stereo but who are scraping by financially who could also tell the difference between LRS & LRS+ are and should be one of the target buyers of Magnepan. Stop referring to LRS+ buyers as "novice" or "entry level".

Very smart.. the lrs is a great entry product, but most subs aren't appropriate for it. Now if the lrs owners aren't trading up, get a good sub for them instead.

Magnepan needs to send their speakers to be made in China! They will be 200 dollars and sound like 10k. All the reviewer's say the same about the new LRS PLUS THE SAID ABOUT THE MMG! THEY WILL SOUND GOOD IF YOU SPEND MANY THOUSANDS ON ELECTRONICS AND SUB. WOFFER!

Not an Expert here of the brand but I would like to try 1.7 with two subs and the right amplification/dac. Fpga and a class a/b very refined sound. Also fuse and cable must be at the top with the right tips from the dealer/manufacture, Thanks .

Dipole woofers are not a new concept, In the late 1970s I remember one of my Audio friends had double Stacked quads 63 With 4 x 12 “ “ dipole woofers.

I desperately wanted my mmg to sound good. But, my Dayton audio- 35 dollar a pair speakers with 4 inch midbass and ribbon tweeter sounds so much better. Don't understand what magnepan is thinking. 🙏
