I saw a lawn service mowing a yard that was so small they could barely turn their mower on the turf. This makes me wonder why a mowing service does not have a small consumer mower to handle random jobs

Things are so much different up here in NH. I have a 2017 f350 duality towing my mow trailer and I have a driver chase us with my 2010 f350 dump at every mow account and I leave the keys in the ignitions unlocked where we park them and I have the jungle Jim equipment racks that don’t have a locking capability. Luckily no thief’s around here.

I appreciate that Red had the guts to face you man to man, you could be his role model, sometimes we need second chances, have we never done anything wrong we regret???? Sassy is 110% loyal that's fantastic, Maybe Red needs guidance, yes I know your an employer not a counsellor,sometimes both go hand in hand, your business and you and sassy James are doing a fantastic job, just dropping my penny's worth...God bless you and James baby ninja and mama ninja.

Nick, there’s a lot of comments reaffirming what you already know. Employees come and go, there’s a reason why they are no longer employed by you. Time is money and you have no time to waste on BS with 25+ yards a day to do. Go back and look at photos from 2009, remember your humble beginnings and reflect on were you are today.......a business that you’ve built on blood, sweat and tears. You’ll make the right decision, because at the end of the day......there’s regular grass and then there’s NINJA GRASS!

I have rehired employees who have quit on me in the past and it had NEVER worked out the second go around. It is always so weird the second time. I would not hire RED back. Also, I am really surprised that Red has the balls to even ask for his job back. So my question is.......has Red's character really changed in such a short amount of time? I don't think so. He needs to grow up and stop playing people and get a clue.
@hawktuft7726 жыл бұрын
Sassy is such a good person even if nick brings red back idk why he would be upset, and he wouldn't have anything to say unless nick asked. because he knows it's nicks business. That's just one of the reasons sassy is just so freaking amazing as an entertainer and employee!! He's also a Wisconsinite where the best ninjas come from😂

If you take Red back and he does't foul up again, you are way ahead. You know already how well he works. If he does foul up, you are just back to where you are now. Can you get more done in a day with three than the current two? Sassy is great but he is human and subject to getting sick as much as anyone else, so you have to plan for that. But do what works best for SG because the buck stops with YOU!

Nick, I can definitely understand why you're on the fence about Red. However, I hate to see it, but I have to agree with the majority here. He has had his chance. The way he did you, it is time to move on. Best thing to do at this point is to pray for the man. I sincerely do wish him the best.

I was thinking past couple days that you should rehire Red because you are going to have to rehire somebody at some pt and at least you know what kind of employee you are going to have with him versus have to semi train another person (regardless of him ghosting you)..............but I just happened to look back on the Sept 3rd video in which you went out of your way to make him and Sassy more than whole on their checks because you finished the prior week early short of 40 hours. Considering a month later he thought he could leave that situation for greener pastures after you have shown plenty of loyalty, I am thinking I am now in the don't hire back camp.

I have alot of experience working for a small company it's my uncles electrical company. And he hired this guy who was on drugs he would be clean then relapse is was hard for him but me and my uncle did everything to help and working is helping keep his mind off of it now with red you said it was baby momma or just overly obsessive girl friend you cant just not hire him because of that now if it affects his work performance and from what I see it does not you really should hire him but lay down ground rules like rule one "red you need to control the woman tell her leave ya alone at work or ya done" rule two "dont talk about the woman while at work" and final "dont let her control your life pull your pants up and take the balls out of her purse"

@@MW3BOT I heard that. Problem is I cant use a fixed deck, but I assume part of the reason it has so many hours is less to go wrong with it. I go back and forth. I can buy a wright but if it lasts half as long it will hurt, I have low overhead because I generally go with reliability over anything else but am so tempted

@@jonnyg44 I have a 2006 36in stander. Almost at 3000. Runs great. Also have a 52in zk stander 1700hrs. I maintenance everything myself,I've had only one problem,replaced a solenoid. I'm also in Florida,wet and Sandy here with hot summers and insane humidity. I believe most problems people have with most machines is poor maintenance and user errors.

But Niiiiiick, I know you're going to do what you do, and like you said; the train keeps going and if you fall off it doesn't stop. If ol' Red is truly sorry for doing you dirty then he ought to be willing to jump through a few more hoops to earn your loyalty back. 90 trial period, and the first no call no show he's gone, and that would be 90 days show up on time ready to work no drama no time off unless he clears with you one week ahead of time and if he gets sick he better have a doctor's note. Sometimes people deserve a second chance, but they should have to work for it.

I would tend to agree with all the nae sayers, but I think this situation is a little different than most. If it were someone like pizza, oh hell no! Yes red did you wrong, he let this other clown get the best of him and probably promised him the moon and more and red fell for it. If it were me that had to make the decision to bring him back, there would be definite ground rules set. Any deviance from those rules would be immediate termination. Nick, I totally agree with your ethics and ways you run your business. But at the same time you do have a heart. We are rolling up on the holiday season. Take care brother and I know you will do the right thing for your business!!!!!

If time's a real pinch, just run your mower blades and use the chute to blow off curbs and the like. And - 13:53 - you're welcome. If you looked at Red's body language in the videos, you could almost tell something shady was going on. He seemed reserved, nervous at times, like he was hiding something. From the start I got a bad impression even though he seemed like a hard worker.

@@diamondstripes678 True it's like the old saying goes "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" etc etc etc... I agree though if he done it once there's about a 95% chance he will do it again as soon as "something better" shows its face.

If you are interested in my opinion, I would give red a second chance. If he was apologizing and saying sorry, I would give him one chance to prove it. But I also would make clear to him that it is the last chance. I mean everybody can screw up ore do mistakes. We all are humans with faults. If we never get a chance to make it better, how should we improve? Show him loyalty to teach him how it’s done right. Take heart. I would love to see him back in the backseat.

I would ask myself why Red didn't feel like he could talk to me about what this other guy was trying to cook up. Communication is super important. This stupid situation probably could have been avoided. I wouldn't even be mad about a guy chasing a better opportunity (if it was legit) but the fact that he just stopped communicating/no-show ..that's a big red flag. It's either a lack of character from him or the way you're coming off to him.
