Starved is starting since Furnace needs some time to heat up. After he finishes heating up he chases tails. Tails uses the same lines as Sonic in the original Prey for some reason. The funniest part is him saying "I'm a fox" after starved says "you don't even know your fate hedgehog."

Lore making time! Before tails got tore one of his tails, eggman (starved) confronted him to just give up so he wouldn't suffer like sonic, tails asked more questions about sonic whereabouts, before tails can even finish his sentence, eggman activated furnace to cook tails, tails successfully ran away, eggman catches up to tails, furnace figures a way to cook tails, furnace successfully catches up to tails, before furnace can even put tails inside his furnace's furnace, tails tried to fly away, furnace grabbed to his tail, getting torn off, and that's it

When I think about how Sonic (or in this case Tails) is flying as fast as Starved when logically he could just stop running/flying and starved would keep flying. Now obviously that wouldn't be a permanent solution but it would buy you some time.

Pov: After Sonic's encounter and Death with furnace, the younger two tailed brother goes ahead and confronts Starved. Soon the Furnace model that was hidden by the red mist, his engine lights up with a roar of flames and tails is then chased down by the same furnace model...the same one that killed his best friend, the one that killed Sonic. Sooner after tails begins to loose Furnace, the young fox begins to taunt Starved and correcting the mentally ill red man on how hes a fox, not a hedgehog. The chase beginning to speed up and the sky and area around begins to be clouded in a red fog as they make their way out of the forest. Then, starved begins to slow down and then leave as tails gets confused; "Huh? Wait, Where you going?!" He'd ask confusingly before looking ahead and just barely dodging a strike from Furnace, he tumbles to the floor and within the forest as he begins to hold back tears of pain...His tail was ripped off. Tails begins to run off into the forest not only with a determined look on his face but with tears streaming down his cheeks... He would attempt to end this once and for all within the next battle...Fight or Flight.
