Well, Norwegian salaries does meet up with the prices. So being Norwegian in Norway isn't really that preposterous. But there are also products in Norway that are just too expensive even for us Norwegians. Having to pay almost 600kr for indrefilet (spotted at 3:24, tender loin in English) is way too rich for us as well. If you wanna live cheap, the cheapest products are the First Price ones, which is alright for the most part. But if you don't mind paying a tiny bit more, Rema 1000 products is what you wanna go for, which is only found in the grocery stores of the same name, Rema 1000. Decent quality for a reasonable price. In this comment section, Thora Risan also mentioned healthier foods being cheaper. I can confirm that for the most part. Our state pushes us to eat healthier, which is just fine by me.

I'm a New Zealander living in Poland and food is very cheap here and fresh. It seems to me the supermarkets in Norway are quite small and don't have such a large selection of things, especially produce. I would really miss not being able to find local markets to buy fresh vegetables if I moved to Norway.

This was Kiwi store. The cheapest of what we got. We also have Meny stores and Coop OBS that are bigger with more choice. They also have fresh meat and fish. They make dinner and other fresh food.

Some things are just ridiculously expensive in Norway, even though I'm from a very wealthy country as well. Like a litre of milk here costs 65 cents, but in Norway it's twice as much. But of course, you have way higher salaries so that in reality Norway is not as expensive for the residents as one might think

Hi from Argentina , mind saying : a country with high prices doesn'ttalk good of their own economy (different should be for the tourism visiting) and healthy food should be affordable for everyone , question to you..... do you Norwegians only eat twice a day considering the prices ? , don't you feel dizzy and out of energies ?

The most supermarket use not Norwegian krone but US dollars? I think it's not expensive compared with Japan. So, Norwegian prices are not so inflation. In Japan, It is alleged the prices is the result of deflation. But it's still more expensive than Norwegian prices.

When I was in grad school, I knew a fun Norwegian scientist. "I never cook," she told me. "I only reheat and microwave." I thought it was some sort of feminist point--like she was going out of her way never to lift a finger in the kitchen. But now I see that Norwegians embrace a lot of processed foods.

Although I am Turkish citizen, I wish to live in Oslo Norway with my masters degree and baptist roots and religious beliefs in Norway for all my life with good expectations to find a nice norwegian wife in my always western style clothings. Please Norway, Sweden, Finland never ever accept arabian clothing and attired refugees and immigrants those not related to your customs and traditions. It is just a coersion and intrusion to your lives in the northern hemisphere. I and my helsinki finland's friend electronical engineer dozent doctor Oguz Tanzer have been talking about lives in Finland and best place to live in Norwegian cities as he proclaimed after visiting many cities in EU countries till age 45.
