Thanks for sharing G, J & D. Yes, unfortunately land prices everywhere are going up. We bought 2 rai of land just outside Khon Kaen for 385,000 baht some 6 years ago. It is now worth nearly 3 million!. Lovely relaxing vlog today which is such a joy. I wish I had such a wonderful relationship with my 2 sons as you do with David, Joe, but hey everyone is different. My Thai girlfriend has 16 rai of land in Yasothon. The plan is to build our house there. and grow old together there. I had many conversations with her brother and sister to sign the papers to get the land. In principle it is already hers, but her sister and brother still have to sign it because they are the eldest. But our house will be built in Yasothon. My Thai family is so incredibly great. Joe I now really know what I've been missing all these years. In the US, there is only a 1-2 year (depending on the item) builder warranty on new homes, except for major structural elements of the home which "may" be warranted for up to 10 years. JJ is an exceptional builder, probably even in Thailand.

I'd be interested in David's opinion on PKK as a long term residency for himself, (coming from a young fella), as I've watched some KZbinrs recently who are over 50 say thateven Hua Hin is too quiet for them! Joe, you mentioned about getting married. Me and my wife got married Thai, not US. Because she married a farang, she lost a lot of property rights. She can only buy a house with 1/2-1 rai. I don't know if the laws change, or got worse. You may want to look into it. We joke that if we want a big piece of land we have to get a divorce!

Most get the price they ask for especially on the smaller lots or they just won’t sell. The bigger lots are much earlier to negotiate the price. In saying this, you are correct, asking price and selling price is not always the same. .

250k for a quarter acre would be dirt cheap here. Unless your in the middle of no where, there's a section here for 3.8m. Min wage here is 35k/year, average wage 65k. Under 80k you'd be doing it hard here. It's about 3.5k+/m2 to build. The feeds there are cheap, but how do you fellas fill yourself up. I'm a small chap but need to eat or I'll be paper thin. How on earth do you get 4000-6000cals and protein from eating those tiny plates of tucker.

Same in the US, people can’t afford to buy a home and everything is so expensive. A friend of mine in Texas pays $750 during the summer months for electricity along. In Thailand not all servings are small. Easy and cheap to consume protein when a kilo of chicken breast cost around $2.29 USD.
