ah, the commentators in the old days. they likely figured nobody was watching, outside of japan. they said gary goodridge was the world arm wrestling champion. and that he had beaten 1000 competitors in one hour. amazing. he beat 16.66 opponents every minute, nonstop, for one hour. so 3.6 seconds per opponent, with no time to spare in between opponents. amazing feat.

Gary Goodridge said Pride 1 event was 90 percent fixed. Pride 2 was 70 percent, and by Pride 10, 10 percent was fixed. So Interesting to watch it again, knowing most of these fights were fixed, and you can see now how some of the fighters didn't even resist submission attempts.

I can't even remember the channel it was on now, but I watched a video recently on the history of match fixing in early Japanese MMA and saw that clip there, so watched this trying to figure out which of the fights were legit. That head kick on the ground couldn't have been pre-planned, but most everything else, in viewing with that historical hindsight, was pretty suspect.
