PRIDE OF BILBAO 1993 - 2010 (farewell Billy) Final Voyage September 2010

Miss this ferry. She's now tied up in Murmansk well into the Arctic circle where she has been since 2020. One wonders whether she will sail again at her age with her situation being in Russia.

I managed to do two trips on her around The Baltic in 2012 but I fear you are right that she may never sail again, it’s possible she may never leave Murmansk, I hope I’m wrong & that’s not the case as I’d like to do one more trip on her.

Apparently, she now sails from Genoa to Bastia as Moby Orli.

I had some great times on board the Pride of Bilbao.. I worked on her annual refits for Trim Line both in Falmouth and Portsmouth in 1993 ,94, & 95 I think it was. Good days great work mates and atmosphere aboard her.

Used to use this boat for the Morocco trips with the John Mann guys..real good laugh.. Used to get rather choppy in that bay of Biscay though..

The Pride of Bilbao did very well in p&o. It was in service for 15 years and that is very good for a ferry. She will be missed by lots. P.S. loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is now been sold to St Peter Line, to do the Stockholm to St Petersburg route. Pretty boring route after travelling through the Bay of Biscay twice a week. Good luck Billy!! :D

Best ever sailings with her some very good memories and some really ruff gale10 crossings on the bay of biscay always to remember wish it came back on service. Or a newer version twin ferry not likeing Brittany ferrys
