Kevin O’Leary talked about the red straps one time. He said they sometimes compile clips from different filming sessions/days into single episodes, and since he wore a red strap the first time, the show producers asked him to continue doing so for the sake of episode continuity so that it wouldn’t be obvious they weren’t just filming one episode at a time and were actually compiling clips from different times lol.

That guy just does not get it and he’s a jeweler he should absolutely know putting 1 mil in diamonds on a high end watch does not mean the watch is worth over a mil after that you have destroyed a factory watch and it doesn’t matter how many diamonds you put in it the value has decreased

Depends who you ask ? A watch is only worth what you are willing to pay for it. Obviously most collectors don't want the the after market diamond watches but there is a customer base for that type of thing and in that world it is worth whatever he says it is worth.

I can see both arguments. You have 2 camps here. One camp loves watches and the second camp loves jewelry. Watch enthusiasts cringe anytime factory parts are replaced, or aftermarket jewels are set. It will 100% decrease the value within the watch community. The second camp of jewelry lovers is a different story altogether. Let's say a blinged out Nautilus goes on the second hand market. Ultimately that watch is dead to watch enthusiasts, but still worth a pretty penny to the wealthy jewelry folks. The good news is that these companies make plenty of watches to have a few fall through the cracks. It doesn't bother me at all. To each his own.

Nico let me educate about Kevin O'Leary's red strap thing. In one of the early recordings of Shark Tank he had a watch with a red strap on it and it stood out in the recording, the next recording he did not wear that so the production asked him to wear a red strap as it would help with edits and continuity and other things in post-production, since then he has red strap for each of his shark tank watch and became his thing.

I've had an experience purchasing from ebay and it was a fast easy process, to be safe though I took it straight to an AD when I got it and had them authenticate and appraise it & everything turned out nicely. Just make sure your watch comes with papers/box etc

Hi Nico. The first expensive watch I bought was a Hublot Big Bang. I bought it because I liked the way it looked when I walked into a watch store half drunk with no shirt on in sandy flip flops. By now I have realised my mistake but its too late. You said to never sell your first watch so my question is, if I should go and buy fake diamonds and drill the damn thing to give it any value or take the first watch thing with a grain of salt and try to sell it on pride and pinion? Sad none of these people understand what they’re on about. If you want to add diamonds to a watch you do not use the stock parts to drill into. You take off the factory bezel and they ice out aftermarket bezels and put them on said watch. Very simple. Then if you want the watch to go back to factory ten or twenty years from now you just change bezels. That’s why most aftermarket iced out watches are listed and sold as not water resistant to whatever mfg suggested because they cannot guarantee the water proofing on the aftermarket bezels. That’s why rappers have videos of pouring water on champagne etc on their iced out watches because they’re showing they paid for factory and not an aftermarket watch that shouldn’t be worn in the shower. I say all this to say that you can go to a jeweler and have them ice out a Bezel and toss it on your big bang and give it a new life and appeal. Also they are in demand anyone who watches watch listings over the last few years knows that there were a ton of iced out pieces that just aren’t on the market anymore because people scooped them up.

It's how much you spent on it that sets the bar for how much of a baller you are. $10,000 necklace new is probably worth less than $4000 if you tried to sell it. But you still had to pay $10,000 for it so it's a $10,000 necklace
