I was very active in the Reublican Party. Every election I would make calls, knock on doors, etc. In 2016, I was extremely ill. I could barely get out of bed. So I prayed and ask Jesus what I should do. The reply I got was "Don't worry. I got this." In 2020, I prayed again for what to do. This time I was told that "I know what I desire, but the will of the people has to decide the path they choose. Whatever happens, I will still turn it to good." I support Trump in this election because I think he is the lesser if the evils in the choices we have been given, but can we really say that Melania is a practicing Catholic? Is their marriage valid? Have they both gotten the needed annulments for a valid marriage to be possible? If not, she can attend mass and pray, but she can't fully participate in the sacraments. @splattered63 Actually, it is our place to make sure that if we hold someone up as an example of faith that we make sure they ate actually practicing. Galatians 6:1 is clear on that, "Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness." What isn't our place is to judge their eternal salvation, which I didn't do. To say that someone is a good Catholic when they have made the choice to separate themselves from the sacraments is to contribute to scandal and promote the idea that we don't need to follow the teachings of the Church to protect our souls.
