I put it back to normal and ran between rooms, hoping something would change, maybe I'll try some missions and regular attacks on normal... Edit: I spent about half an hour grinding random encounters on 9-6-5, on hard, with a mixture of strong attacks, abilities from the stance, and regular attacks finishing off barrier'd enemies. After that I did the same on normal and within 10 minutes got barrier break and straight away 100%! Might have been a normal mode thing, or maybe another 10 minutes on hard would've done the same, not sure. Thanks Primalliquud for the tips, probably saved me a lot of time! 😃

Thanks I was at 95% and my proficiency was not going up when I was guarding using command materia and killing with normal attacks but then I just carried on killing with Buster stance strong attack and all of a sudden I got the extra 5% in one go just from killing on m9 6 5 with Buster stance strong attack I'm now 100% Thanks so much

True. By the time you get to 100%, there’s literally no reason to have the abilities it gives you, even on hard mode.

I used pretty much the exact same method for training my Buster Sword Proficiency. The only difference is that I trained the ability portion by spamming High Jump on 9-5-3 instead. Farming Three Stars is the best SP farm in the game and selling the Mythril Armlets they drop will also net you a lot of Gil. It was kind of a 3-in-one for me. For the other aspects of BSP, I used 9-6-5. I did use several SP Masters instead of SP Turbo though. I had tens of millions of SP left over from farming Three Stars earlier in the game to defeat Minerva in my ASAP run. I also heard that the 95% issue was a Switch-specific issue, but I can't say for sure as I'm not playing on that platform.

One correction. There is 10% tied to Break Damage Limit. So it is 80% divided by 3 for Buster Stance Kills (strong attacks and command materia) and buster stance guard, 10% for Break Damage Limit, then 5% each for both Barrier abilities.

@@Primalliquid92 I watched the video, but there is no mention of gaining 10% from Break Damage Limit. Only mentioned gaining 5% each from Barrier pierce and barrier break. You also mentioned random 5% boosts, which are not a thing. People assume it is random as the gain happens in the middle of battle, but it is in fact you learning the ability in the middle of battle, typically the Barrier Pierce and Barrier Break if it is 5%. This is why majority of people, if not all, who upload this "random boost" always have an ability unlock tip after the battle or mission. The video explains the mechanic of what people usually are missing for getting 100%, but just added in a comment that 10% is also tied to Break Damage Limit, which people will typically naturally unlock anyway just by using it.

For those who are stuck at 95% and it looks like the numbers aren't rising they actually are. Some reason it just doesn't show that your gaining progress but trust me you are. When I hit 95% and started doing this I was going into buster sword stance and spamming death jump but it stayed at 95.00% but after about 45 minutes of doing so it just randomly jumped from 95.00 to 100.00 and I got the notice. So if it looks like it's not working it really is it just don't want to show you it is lol good video by the way.

I saw this No further abilities are unlockable after reaching 47 percent proficiency. As such, players should only grind until 47 percent, as there is no incentive to grind more after that. Makes me wonder why bother grind to 100%? The funny thing is you are right about the 100% proficiency, funny how all those game sites think they know everything, the fact you proved them wrong goes to show how overrated those sites are stating 95% was the cap and then making a comment about 100% is only for Cloud strife lol. How stupid and missinformed IGN are lol.

Primalliquid! I finally completed and 100% FF7 Crisis Core Reunion! The ending was so sad! And I defeated Minverva on hard mode for the first time! Imo, I don't like the Heike Soul and the Divine Slayer items. Ziedrich is better than Divine Slayer. And I don't like how Heike Soul has the SP Master ability. Because I don't want to burn away at my SP. You know what I mean? I most likely won't play New Game plus. Because I already 100% the game on hard mode. I might play it one day but those chances are slim.

I think Blitzz made the video regarding the 95% proficiency issue, they had the ver 1.0 when they tested it, and on day 1, there was an update/patch, which is above ver 1.0, which fixes that efficiency issue.

i had the game 3 weeks early from SE directly when they first handed them out to reviewers there was a patch right away as normal (So vers 1.0) and then there was no update until a week after the game had come out and people had already obtained 100% so i can confirm it has nothing to do with being on version 1.0.

The proficiency for me doesn't go up from guarding, and it stopped doing that at 70%. I'm at 95%, and nothing is really working anymore. I've tried the way that is used in the video, but I'm still stuck after 10 attempts.

Nice this should help on hard Minerva. Normal was moderate difficulty but idk I wanna try hard. I've beaten rebirth Rulers Bonds and Hero and Hard mode. Anything is possible now. Thanks for the suggestion. My command proficiency is maxed. I assume my attack will be soon. I'm unsure about barrier but I know I got piercing, probably not break. Guarding is the one I want most so I can mitigate as much damage as possible. The only hard challenge now is Minerva. Also the troopers in 965 with the white suits and barriers have phoenix downs. 33 battles with steal and you'll get 99, if somebody doesn't know. This is your way to get past Minerva debuffing you if you are failing at revival because of judgement arrow and her vital slash or final slash whatever slash attack As much as I hated the legendary challenges on rebirth I unfortunately only have one more difficult one to do in Crisis Core and I can cheese it with SP master and grinding I might actually go back to the torture of rebirth maybe Cloud solo all the legendary that they allow me to this would be good subject matter for your videos by the way. Optinoobs methods are good but you could probably spice it up. Of course 7 isnt the only FF game and ill be consulting these for my play of ff1-6

@@felldoh9271 easy af, this game ended in like ch 3 or 5. Story progression didnt matter at all, except for unlockimg some missions. And you get buster sword in ch 5 I guess. You could beat her in ch 3 probably with using generic sword not the buster one 😂 keyword: materia fusion, get your stats to 255 and unlock hp/dmg limit

Thanks man. This is nuts, and frustrating all of this flew over my head, especially because I made (via leveling/unlocking new jobs) FF Tactics my woman even though all I hear is how hard it is. How did you raise Zack’s stats? Are there specific materia fusions I should aim for because of how good they are? Thanks for your time. If there’s a guide you used please link it.

@@felldoh9271 FFT is heaps more complicated than this, you're better off not thinking too much about this game except if you're aiming for specific materia fusion (there's a whole other faq just about this topic). Basically, you'd want to look for these channels: Primalliquid, Dan Berr and Spellborne. They have guides to raise stats with materia fusion and the farming that comes with it.

Hello! First: thanks for the video! :) Second: I feel like I don’t understand that battle stance. Is it gone after I Press R1 to block? I’m not really able to see and indicator whether I'm in it or not but it feels like I have to press square+x before every single attack. ^^

That is exactly what you have to do. Press square+x to enter Battle Stance and then perform a Command materia attack or a normal attack. Rinse and repeat. The attack is boosted being launched from the Battle Stance and it progresses the Buster Sword proficiency (within the mentioned cap limits).

My Buster Sword Proficiency is at 95.00%, and I maxed out B.S. + normal, B.S. + command, and B.S. + guard, I have the tutorial of the stance, damage limit break, and barrier piecing, but still no barrier break. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong here

Great video, wish it had come a few days earlier as i was doing this grind myself and information was not too easy to piece together with a lot of contradictions. Mission 9-6-5 is best for Guarding and command materia gains as well as the barrier abilities, but it gets fairly slow for the regular attack in battle stance. I'd reccomend 1-2-1 and running between two connected rooms for a little extra gaurd experience and your regular attack from battle stance. One thing i noticed with higher proficency is that at some point everything i guarded with battle stance did 0 damage. I wondered if it was max vit, so i took off some gear down to 112 vit and it was still 0 when using battle stance. I unfortunately don't have an earlier save with lower proficency. Would you be able to verify whether that is the case? I'm pretty sure it tells you in game that it reduces damage by 80% when you get the buster sword. It's kind of an odd feature if it is true, still not worth grinding out the damn guarding proficency.

its slow for normal attacks if you cant 1 shot them yea, thats why i suggest being max attack in the video then you can fly through it and do it at the same time as guard, because you can earn more attack prof in a fight than guard anyway you'd likely still finish it first

So I kill tons of enemies on 9-6-5 in battle stance (Using Command Materia), since my proficiency is already capped at 95% I just thought that the missing 5% is from the Barrier Break but after about 20 minutes of Jumping and running around getting new random encounter my proficiency just cannot rise beyond 95%? I am trying to get Barrier Break btw. Anyone knows why? Game version is 1.0.1 on Steam

Keep defeating enemies with wall in battle stance. Will happen eventually. Took me 30mins to get that last 5%

the percentage wont increase until you get the skill, unlocking the skill gives you 5% instantly which is what you need

it starts to slow down in the latter 50 you should still be able to to get to 95% just doing the stance and getting hit and after getting hit you do either the strong attack or a command materia like high jump or assault twister+

@@hShado I realized what I was doing wrong. I had to stance block and get hit to get it to go up more. Also I eventually got the last buster sword ability after farming for a while more, took what felt like an eternity but it being able to block all of Minerva’s attacks and beat her was worth it.

I'm currently stuck at 95% profiency and still missing Barrier Piercing. I know I don't really NEED 100%, but it triggers me hard that it only says 95%, so I WANT the last skill just for that. Pretty sure its closer to around 26.7% proficiency each for stanced guarding, strong attack kills, and stanced command materia kills. Capping at 80% leaving 20% to be acquired via angeal DMW 100% (10% bonus; though I had 100% angeal in chapter 3 so it triggered either on the next angeal memory pop or when I got an angeal limit break) and 5% each for barrier pierce and barrier break (still took several battles against barrier'd enemies to get each bonus). I never got any other random 5% or 10% boosts from combat otherwise

Do you have all 3 abilities unlocked? If not, that is why. Usually people are missing Barrier Break. Follow the video and it may take 30min to an hour to unlock it, but just got to keep going at it. If you do have all 3 abilities unlocked, try checking if any of the 3 regular methods (strong attack kills, command materia kills, guarding) raise proficiency. If any of them do, stick with those methods until it won't gain anymore. Each method has their own internal cap of how much you can gain altogether.

no there were confirmed instances of people having 100% before the patch came out proving there was no bug, every single instance i saw on gamefaqs of people complaining about being at 95% pre patch was simply because they didnt have barrier breaker skill
