Cheers for this 👍👍 I just beat minerva accidentally. I almost had my build completed trying to follow your guides (had 200% AP instead of 100 MAG), and only had a couple million in SP. I also had a Status Ward instead of another SP Master/Turbo. Some of my materia wasn't even mastered yet. But I jumped into the fight just to see how much damage I was doing. I ended up using 1 Phoenix Down legitimately and a bunch of potions, but beat her on my first go just spamming High Jump. Tried using Costly Punch occasionally but would always get hit. High Jump was far safer despite only doing 30k damage.

With the little rant at the end, I think that younger gamers who have lived in the age of instant gratification and older gamers who don't have the time due to all the responsibilities are the ones who complain about having to grind the most. Most of the time people forget that none of this is a race, especially in a single player game. It's okay to take your time and enjoy things and do it at your own pace, and if something isn't working for you at the moment it's okay to do something else for a while and come back to it later.

i actually see the problem less with younger gamers if im honest, it does seem more previlent in those who grew up with long tedious grinds and now have experienced the instant gratification, they dont want to go back and have to spend time doing something

The only time i complain about a long grind is when a new game i want to play is about to come out and im nowhere near my target power/abilities. I hate dropping games because i'd rather start over when I go back into an old game. If i get to where i want to i can just smile at my save file and play a bit and not think about starting over.

For me it’s not so much a skill issue, but more of a time issue, I can beat difficult parts in games just fine. As you get older, you have more and more responsibilities so you can’t just spend your whole weekend and weekday nights playing nonstop. Criticize me if you must, but I wait until there is a 100% walkthrough guide on a game before I start playing and seeing the most optimal path/build/playstyle so I can beat the game in an efficient manor. Back in the day before KZbin walkthrough guides were a thing, I always bought the game guides they would sell in stores as well(they have massively dipped in quality so I stopped buying them). I simply don’t have the time to do a Skyrim and wander around the whole map discovering things as you go. I hate that most gamers want massive open world games when I prefer a more streamlined experience.

Oh hey I was the one that commented about being confused why some stats went on what materia. First off, I really do appreciate the video series, it helped getting a lot of things set up even though I did eventually move on ahead since I won't have as much time to play/wait in the future. I asked about that because of two reasons: 1. You had mentioned previously that you were going to put VIT on Costly Punch, which is what I ended up doing based on that comment 2. At the time I asked, I did not know we were going to be using Mug in the Minerva fight, or even keeping it on in general so I was confused. Another commenter cleared that up after I asked. Thanks again for the series, I nearly have the platinum now and your videos have been a great help in that. Just farming DMW progress now for the Genji Armor and the related trophies.

yea the stats can go on whatever really, i said vit on costly punch originally just because of the order the materia was in when i was talking about stats and thinking about materia ill be having equipped later, but it doesnt really matter lol

Magic Pot farm works on Xbox X. No issues, took me a bit to figure it out but it's really easy!

Curaga with AP 999% would of made the Minerva fight perfect 👌 the AP boost to spam High Jump, and quick Curaga instead of potions so you only need to focus on Soma if your AP does ever fall low.. the wasted MAG electrocute slot and switching items was the only thing short of perfection 👌

Now that I'm later in the video though, I did comment asking if Magic Pot was patched but I didn't comment that after a few minutes. I do feel the need to comment because I feel I am one of the people you were addressing in your end speech. I was never able to get the Tonberry stuck even after 6 hours of constant effort. If you go back to the thread on that comment, we have a reasonable assumption that the platform that you play on may impact the ability to get the Tonberry stuck. I was trying on PS4, though I plan to try on PS5 doing the exact same things to see if it works. I'm still just one person, but if I find it easier on PS5, then it may open the door to it being a platform specific trick. With all that said though, i still ran around the Tonberry for those 6 hours, hitting Magic Pots as they came up, and got plenty of pins so the overall trick still worked. It just wasn't AFK for me, but I still put in the work.

My comment in the video was more to the "aggresive" commentors that go mental saying "nah patched" when they cant get something to work instantly, with regards to getting it stuck i did see a big chain of people saying they couldnt do it on switch, but then people on gamefaqs and reddit managed it, so i dont think its version specific, might just be easier on some versions.

Funny enough, I tried it on the ps4 and the ps5 versions for trapping tonberry, and was able to get it to work the same. My biggest problem was luring him to the one zone corner and timing the dodge at the last possible second before booking it. Once I got that, it worked flawlessly on both versions. I’m not directing this at you at all; I get your frustration with getting this to work for awhile at first. I’m just saying - in general - getting him stuck can be janky at best if you’re not in the correct position. I think it took me an hour or two before I figured out what to do to get it to work every time. I feel ya. We also have to remember that Primal is just ridiculous when it comes to techniques that break things. :) His disgaea videos are still full of things I haven’t been able to master, but that’s not on him. It’s on me for being crazy enough to try to follow in his footsteps. Cheers, man. You bring up great points. It’s just a personal take where I think patience is a virtue when attempting some of the things primal can do with these games.

Thank you for your videos.... we're so helpful to help me defeat Minerva. Not sure if this was said but you don't need the 12mil SP to fight him with this build. Once you have max stats and sp master on it will reduce dmg down to be very manageable with just pots to refill hp. May need to reapply phoenix downs a couple times for her special and Ultima may one shot you late in the fight... it seems to get stronger.

Ryza is a fantastic series (theres also a new ryza coming out in feb) as for tips? enjoy the game, you can break it early if you want but i dont suggest that, just take a look at the guides to learn about seeds though and you should be good, likewise if your playing ryza 2 you can watch my how overpowered video

I'm part of what seems like a small group of people who have either beaten or reached Minerva while still level 6 and no use of the DMW. It's a serious challenge but it is definitely one you can do. It's hard enough when you have to sacrifice 1 accessory just for cursed ring (psp you could go in to a battle yo apply it and then take it off, still cursed). I'm grinding SP and gil but based on my little test, I'm going to struggle to beat Minerva as I can't easily dodge her attacks but it's early days.

cursing ring minerva runs will be fun to watch on reunion because of Kyrsta, the dodge window is SO MUCH smaller compared to psp

I'm also currently working on a level 6 run. Right now, I'm in chapter 7. I've done all missions available. Aside from 9-6-6. I just haven't settled on a build yet. Also, have Buster Sword proficiency at 100%. So, pretty much I just have grinding SP left. To increase stats on materia.

Yea, the Buster Sword proficiency was such a grind. I've done it twice now. Once on a fresh start hard mode run. And on a level 6 Cursed Ring run. So, to clarify. the "random" 10% is not from Angeal's DMW. As most of these websites have been stating. Otherwise I wouldn't have it on my level 6 run. You'll get it shortly after unlocking the Break Damage Limit ability. If you are doing attacks that are/would do over 9,999 damage.

yea it takes forever, i really dont understand why so many people rave on about how its so good, like no i can max stats, break all limits and clear a ton of missions for basicly everything faster than it takes to max the buster sword proficency. the only good thing it has imo is the upgraded guard, which you start with anyway

Question regarding to sp masters: does it have a damage cap to how many sp u have? And how much is increased every million sp? Thing is with high jump will it hit 99999 every time u use it? Seems like I have max stats but can’t seem to hit 99999

it doesnt matter how much SP you have, because it uses points, even with 6 mastered SP master you can double your damage for about 500sp a hit

You definitely took damage fighting Minerva, you just farmed a boatload of SP and converted it to that while spamming High Jump 😂 I thought we were gonna see some expert-level dodging Primal! I just spammed her with High Jump and Aerial Jump and she still never did enough damage to worry me, I think her limit hurt me enough to warrant a hi-potion but that was about it

I use a sp turbo and the sp turbo attack I think its called with aetial drain hits for the damage cap and fully heals you I also use assault twister hits for the damage cap at least almost the damage cap 3 times got a video on my channel with it but yea aerial drain is really good but u need this 2 materia buffing it

it will only hit for the damage cap on lower vitality mobs, with minerva and 2 SP boosts even high jump doesnt max damage on hit, aerial drain will do alot less. for general trash fights though its fine.
