@@spacexsays3227 The idea of the earth being flat is about as stupid as it comes in 2020. I mean philosophers have had the understanding of the earth being a globe for thousands of years and it’s been generally accepted for hundreds. Now that we have satellites in orbit and the ISS it’s just common fact we live on a globe. Here’s my question though, if the earth is truly flat why would every country in the world, including countries that hate each other all agree to keep it a secret the earth is flat? What do they have to gain, same reason if the moon landings were staged why didn’t the Soviet’s call out the Americans when they only lose by pretending the US got to the moon?

This will work if they have upwind wind sensors say 100m and 50 m upwind of landing pad. so that the booster can calculate exactly how much it will drift in the wind. Wind prediction is key to the precision here. I cant understand why they do not do it landing planes...

That's gonna be hard for the Starship portion at first because parts of the heat shield melt from the high friction re-entry. I don’t think you’ll have to wait a few years. As of Jan2021, they’re already working in the second booster prototype. I would be surprised if they don’t start testing them this year, even if they have to put legs on the first few until the build the launch / landing tower. They also bought two floating or semisubmersible drilling platforms to modify into sea launch platforms. They must not sleep! Lol.

I love that phrase, "...next evolution of crazy space ideas"! You've got to absolutely love what SpaceX has done, pushing the envelope and making it dramatically less expensive in material, labor and other fabrication costs. I wish them continued great success. Orion may speed up their development now that Jeff has begun to concentrate his attention as well as resources on it, and they'll benefit from what SpaceX has learned, so more power to them, as well. Two private corporations in the U.S. are doing what no other country on earth can do, and we've only seen the early beginnings of what they will accomplish.

@@Dev-jl5ty your comparing apples and oranges. Landing rocket boosters was already proven by DC-X and was just a matter of upgrading technology. The only thing everyone was really questioning was the economic viability. Now 1 million per launch for a Superheavy Heavy lift rocket is on a whole is way out there. Regardless of the full reuse and stainless steel structure that is an EXTREMELY unrealistic goal. It would be the cheapest launch system ever.That per launch cost would only be possible if they were making 3 flights per day and everyone knows that there is no launch market whatsoever for that
@Dev-jl5ty

@@iamarokotmanson as of now it costs ~60M per seat. But with a fully reusable launch vehicle even if that is reduced to 1-2M per seat alot of ppl would wanna go to space hereby creating a market (space tourism).

Also, Elon plans to use anti-matter as a fuel in the future whenever the technology evolves to be capable of mass production.

@@ThrustersX I've also seen proposals for a SpaceX "hub" where ships get re-fueled, crews rest and/or swap out. Fairly easy to build with current tech and there is a company out there right doing the engineering/systems design.
