2:29:05 I did my MS in CS remotely. "Going back to school" 2:39:42 is ABSOLUTELY a real thing with so many great online MS in CS programs! No regrets: it was super cheap, I learned a lot in classes I didn't take as a non-CS undergrad, and I met many smart people already working at almost every big tech company. The ROI of time investment probably wasn't super high relative to undergraduate education, but it was still a great experience, I learned a ton, and I worked on topics that I would otherwise not learn on my own. I know they were probably talking only about undergraduate, but these discussions are never quite so simple.

@2:20:00 CS degree is a waste of money when the Web has a variety of online communities to ask, learn and fellowship with others wi/o accumulating debt. Degrees are ideal for Doctors and Lawyers ( but IMO ) People who are passionate about a career will/should gravitate towards the profression and will naturally excel!
@Vim_Tim10 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what you or I think. The opinion of the potential employer is the one that matters. I wouldn't bet my career hoping that recruiters don't care about a degree or betting that my experience/skill compensates for the lack of a degree relative to degree-holding peers.
