For 3 seasons (2005-07) Arenas had MONSTER years: 25.5, 29.3, 28.4 ppg. He was that one rare player on a poor team that was allowed to shoot as many times as he wanted to. However, is career fg% is bad (.406) and was only average 3 point shooter (33%). I don't like the comparisons to Kobe. Most importantly, he rarely guarded Kobe, whereas Kobe WANTED to guard Arenas (and did for a majority of plays). Arenas was more like Iverson (but only for 3 years), but Iverson averaged more assists. Arenas DEFINITELY stepped up to the challenge vs. Kobe, and wasn't afraid of him. For that, he gets props.

Being an avid Kobe/Laker fan, I appreciate this vid. I always thought Arenas was a loud mouthed-shoot first point guard, with MAD skills and elite quickness. And....he was! LOL.... but after looking at other Arenas vids and checking his stats,.... his stats during the 3 years with the Wizards (2004-07, before his major injury) actually compare to Kobe's stats in the same time. Arenas had 3-5 pts/game avg. fewer than Kobe, yes, but otherwise they were "almost" equal. Except Arenas was never known as a good/great defender, and he didn't do well keeping his teammates in the game, but then again, the Wiz had very few scorers on those teams (Antawn Jamison was solid 20 per). And Gilbert wasn't the killer and the winner like Kobe/MJ, but who was? So this vid changed my perception of Gilbert Arenas as a player. Thank you for posting this!
