Anything I can fix myself to save me time sitting in a shop hours that cost me money bc I’m in a shop not driving I do myself. I keep extra things like mud flaps.. lights… glad hands an air horse to fill tires if they get low pressure and I have lots of tools. No you not getting ahead of yourself that’s why it’s good you went company drive first because you get to learn what you need to learn without losing money and getting frustrated learning it bc you went lease to soon and too fast

That’s a fact bro, what you just explain is exactly what I want to be capable of doing. I appreciate your understanding bro, most people don’t understand that’s a part of the business. Time is money in trucking and if you can save time and expense by knowing how to change a glad hand or mud flop, that can only be beneficial to you and your business. Keep safe out there bro😃💪🏾

@@RomaneTheTrucker you going to do great bro… just keep doing what you’re doing. I watch videos on how to fix things that are not major things that I can and avoid going to the shop if I can. bro, you're a company driver. don't work for free. if its maintenance for the truck let prime pay a shop to do it. unless they can't get you in for a day or two. don't feel obligated to spend your own time/money to fix their equipment. prime will pay you to fix things I believe. being lease drivers we get paid to do things like hang chutes or small things that we can fix. but don't be doing things and just not informing them that you're doing it. being an OTR driver they already have you the entire 24 hours in a day, don't let them take advantage of you when you think you're doing them a favor. in the end its business, if you allow them to walk over you, they will continue doing it. you have to set boundaries and if you let them run you into the ground, they'll do it. there's nothing wrong with being a hard worker. but that's how people burn out and quit. just pace yourself and don't work like your dispatcher will remember you. you're just a truck number to them

Prime can get road assist to come fix their truck within an hour. I don’t have to touch primes equipment. Also if it’s a simple problem I can fix, I can go ahead and fix it myself and prime will pay me for fixing it. This video is about me learning to fix trucks in order to fix my own trucks in the future when I buy them. I will never work on primes truck without them knowing. Opening the apu door and check the oil level and coolant level is basic pre trip inspection. If prime truck needs work I call road assist. 😃💪🏾

You 100% didn’t watch the video. I said I will learn how to fix trucks that way when I buy my truck in the future i can fix simple problems. Also at prime, if something is wrong with the truck and you as the driver can fix it, prime will pay you money to fix it. For example changing an air filter which is easy to do, prime will pay you to change it. I wouldn’t go ahead and do me mechanical work on the truck without prime’s knowledge. But to check the oil level and coolant levels, that’s my job as the driver to check for problems.

But to answer you again, I said I want to learn how to fix truck for when I buy my own. I will watch videos, not pulling apart primes truck.

My intention is honestly to own my trucking company and give it a Jamaican plus Hawaiian name because I'm Jamaican and my wife is from Hawaii. Thank God I learned mechanics from in the 1990s in Golden spring st Andrew at Mr bell (aka bengeh ) garage. Mr romain your thinking good sir. This can be good for you if you know what your doing and plan wisely. I saw an Indian trucker in Goodyear Arizona recently with a flag from India flowing side to side on the back of the trailer recently on the freeway and it looks so dham good and I thought of doing the same on any trailer I'm hauling too. I know there is a lot of Jamaicans driving otr semi trucks here in America but don't wave the jamaican flag.. that's so bad. Every one of the vehicles I own here in America alway have a jamaican flag or a sticker on them. Many times I go places and people go crazy when they see my flag or sticker. Especially in Arkansas.
