I’m in a lease here and I LOVE IT!! I been out here EATIN!! I cook on the truck, don’t spend unnecessary money, and if I go home I ask for a pass through where I can just do a 34 or 48 hour break and roll out!! Or if I need longer I straddle 2 weeks so I’m not in the hole. You keep doing you and just realize that with anything, what you put in it is what you get out of it! PERIODT! So if you’re being positive and optimistic about the situation, then that’s what you will get ! Be safe out here!! You got this!!

From my experience being a passenger/companion of a prime Inc lease operator for 6months and watching and learning how Prime Inc operates. First thing first if you aren't in the mindset of this is your business and not just a job you're going to fail. Just like with any business you may not start to see a profit until after 6mths to a year. Usually you're just learning you're still learning your skills you haven't mastered trip planning you're still learning how to make sure you're keeping good records with your log. 9x out of ten you're not sleeping well or eating well. Because of poor trip planning. You must be over prepared for everything. When you keep those wheels turning you're earning and if you're not saving as soon as something happens you're fucked. When you get your settlements pay your self like an employee and put the rest of that shit up. Take loads that makes since to your time clock. Short and steady wins the race it's a quicker turn around. Loads that are 1000miles should be a 2 day ride but if you ain't prepared it may take 3 depending on weather and Rd conditions. Before you accept an offer check the weather. Check what your fuel is setting at versus to you having to fill up to take this load and how many miles it's going make sure you getting paid fair. I know Prime pays O ops 72% of the load but make sure it makes since before you accept get that dam calculator out. It's ok to say no SOMETIMES I REPEAT SOMETIMES LOL Run hard during the summer just in case your skill level for the winter isn't quite there yet. Them savings will come in handy. That truck payment ain't gone stop just because it's snowing or just because highway 80 is closed Run your ass off in the summer. I'm currently working on getting my CDL if I could just land this 90 on test day. Unfortunately I am unable to drive for Prime Inc right now. But just know they are one of the best trucking companies to drive for. You all are blessed to be able to do so. With anything to become great is to put in the hard work. But do it smart. Rob Lo started that company with his momma's blessing and one damn truck and you too can do the same and all of you watching as well.... Let's get our heads out our ass and on these loads have fun make money make memories...♥️♥️♥️🚛🚛🚛💪🏾🚛🚛🚛♥️

However, I let my CDL lapse, which means I have to get it again. I have taking a hard look at Prime and particularly on the tanker division. I live just outside of Russellville, AR. You’ve made the best decision that works for you to achieve your goals. Never allow anyone to talk you out of it. For those yacking about this expense or that expense and the price of the lease payments, obviously have no clue, nor have they ever been out on their own running under their own authority, plus all the extras. I feel like Prime Leasing is a viable option for me and will be investigating it further.

You should be asking yourself why they are willing to give you responsibility of a truck when you have no experience. They give it to you because they win either way, you dont own the truck after you sign the lease, prime still controls all power of attorney over that truck. Your name is nowhere on the title or paperwork of that truck. They then charge you triple for the truck and other nonsense deductions. You say if you walk away your not taking a loss but the loss is loss of equity in the Equipment you have put thousands of dollars into. Not to mention your "end of lease bonus" isnt even a bonus, its just money they steal from you every check then at end of lease after you paid the truck off they take thousands of your "bonus" to get the truck back to completely perfect condition them sell it for 100k right in your face and I promise that you dont have 100k in your bank account at the end of lease. Honestly this is a up hill fight, I got my CDL at prime in 2015, finished my 4 year lease so I know the type of prime koolaid you drinking right now and your homestly going to be like talking to a wall when it comes to talking you out the lease. I completed my lease in 2019, left prime, got a cheap 20k cash truck and started taking home 3800 a week only sleeping in the truck like 2 times a week and home on weekends. Got my life back from the road, lost 70 poinds and started living great, I grew to hate trucking spending my life in that sleeper, pretty much gave up my early 20s to prime so I damn sure try to stop anybody else from doing it. Today I got a small fleet of 4 trucks and spend my days running the business about 10 hours a week and pretty much living life. I do run one week out the month to keep my skills sharp and my drivers make 2000 a week salary because prime is also often the lowest bidder on freight and once I left loads started paying 3 to 4 times what prime would book them for from the same customers. I also was tanker, looks like your not on food grade but you probably will at some point. Whenever you pull outta AAK in jersey and you see third party carriers in there just know there pulling outta there for 3 times the rate prime gets yall for.

As I got older I’ve learned to communicate. “Hey, how are you doing?” , “Thank You/No Thank You/No Problem/You’re Welcome etc” I feel like the hospitality isn’t there anymore. Maybe b/c I’m in Raleigh I’m speaking to less NC Natives, and that’s the problem. or I’m overboard w/ my communication. Or it’s my appearance 🤷🏿♂️. Who knows, but I definitely used to love it here a lot more. Random rant but I be taking it to heart b/c I’ve changed my ways to adapt to the environment and feel like it was for nothing. In my opinion, leasing gets a bad wrap because most people don’t complete their lease. The way you described why you do what you do makes sense for your situation and that’s all that matters. Everybody is a Elon Musk on social media and in the comments but most people can’t even show you how to do it. When you don't have the money for a down payment for a new truck the leasing program at Prime seems very good. If you don't practice good bookkeeping skills you will never be successful in leasing program. A 78% revenue and a 28% for the company where they take care of all the permits licenses etc. at the end of lease program you get bonus when you turn your truck in. Remember it takes a billion dollars to make a million dollars in trucking. It would be nice if the trucker who had a problem with the lease program to show us the numbers on where they are not making money or losing money.

I hate how everyone talking about how prime or crst are built for the company to make the profits. Of course it is, its a business not a charity. If you are smart with miles loads and fuel you will make money and at the end of the day you gonna have a truck or at least experience not all of it good but its experience thats what matters. I’ve only seen Lease drivers for prime make money here on KZbin . People talking bout what’s not worth it and what is… there are VERY FEW people making 2500 a month and mfs racking 18-2500 a week lol. Some nettting more. Boys don’t understand business and sound lazy af. Get your hustle up and your mind right! Stay up King

Bruh a lot of these “super truckers” out here, even at prime always wanna immediately try to discourage new drivers. I really try not to converse with others. I could care less about the trucker gossip or to even converse my personal matters with any of these drivers out here bc folks always got something negative to say.

Yea tell me about it .. it mainly be the older drivers … 40+ … driver our age see it how we see it … but yea I’m learning to keep to myself out here

@@TruckerJay215 We old drivers ... 40+ ... have been in the game for years and know how the corruption works.

I guess that being in the game for 30 years makes me a "super trucker." I have NEVER discouraged anyone from being a truck driver. I have told the truth and proved what I said which some don't like.

I tried to go with prime as a lease operator but they don’t accept california CDL
@charelsbreaux9040 Жыл бұрын
More like CALIFORNIA doesn’t allow lease operators.. Prime has nothing to do with that. NJ is the same as CA

To the company drivers saying they're making 60k a yr even in this economy, congrats. Lease purchase driver here. My gross as of June 1st is just over 93k and my net is over 38k almost. That's in just under 5 mths. I'm in line to gross over 200k for the yr and net about 90k. That net is my take home. My truck will be paid off this year and that will add over $34,000 to my net next year. So, I'm on track to bring home 90k this year and over $120k next year. In the corporate world, you would need to make over $150k a yr to net 120k. So to that company driver, I'm already making over 50% more than company and next yr, have the potential to double it. Oh yeah, that net includes all payments, fuel and repairs paid. Not knocking company drivers, but get all the facts before trying to pass off your beliefs as truth
