Prime Minister Hon. James Marape and government MPs commemorated World Environment Day 2024 by planting trees along Independence Boulevard in Port Moresby this morning before proceeding to Parliament. The National Capital District Commission, in collaboration with Governor Hon. Powes Parkop, organised the event.
Amidst the current political climate, the government united here to honor this important day by planting trees, demonstrating their concern for the future of Papua New Guinea.
During his speech, Prime Minister Marape encouraged all Papua New Guineans to plant one tree each year and urged logging companies to plant four trees for every tree they cut down.
