Students of Lekutu Secondary and Lekutu Primary School in Bua will now benefit from a more conducive learning environment with the commissioning of their new classrooms this morning by the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
With the assistance of the Australian Government through its Tropical Cyclone Yasa/Ana Recovery Program, the newly-upgraded facilities also include dormitories, dining halls and teachers’ quarters, valued at FJ$11.3 million.
The two schools were severely damaged during Tropical Cyclone Yasa in 2021, disrupting the education of about 400 students.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officiated at the event, expressing his gratitude to the people and Government of Australia for their ongoing generous support for the people of Fiji.
