ALF follows the adventures of Gordon Shumway, a furry, wise-cracking alien from the planet Melmac who crash lands into the garage of the Tanner family. The Tanners offer him a home and give him the nickname ALF, short for “Alien Life Form.” Created by Tom Patchett (The Carol Burnett Show) and Paul Fusco (who also performed as ALF), the half-hour sitcom rose to popularity in the late 1980s, cementing itself in the pop culture zeitgeist.

Just an fyi--you never know when episodes will suddenly disappear. After years of being unavailable to many of us, “Murphy Brown” finally began appearing on YT, to our delight. Within a few weeks, it disappeared again. Lousy copyright situation keeps most seasons of that award-winning series from fans… 😢

I Love this show, so sad that the voice of ALF and the starring ladies are the only ones still with us. The episode that has a special place in my heart is when Willy and ALF accidentally go riding the railways and end up eating beans round a campfire singing City of New Orleans.

Willy's flippant disregard for value when he wastes alfs mistakes always astonishes me how much money he really loses. Take the investment of makeup, he demanded to bin it. The ferrari alf bought, he wanted to sell it that night reducing value by tens of thousands because of impatience. How can a single job of his stature afford three other people and alfs appetite in addition to flushing all that money away :s I'd have made measures to avoid alf finding his details like a password. The kids see the wrong and they're positive before they judge. And it wouldn't hurt to follow through with their warnings like the other episode throwing something through the mothers painting which somehow didn't have a backing and was actually a cheap looking frame. It's hugely interesting how they talk of tacky being bad but their whole house is tacky, too. When alf wanted to change the laundry rooms decor in a weird unconventional way she said they can't redecorate but also hate tack. Why complain yet not change anything? Haha this bunch is absolutely crazy. And why don't they act subtly when gesturing alf to get out of sight? And most of all, the attitudes have changed a lot. Willy seems to be exhibiting the same signs as neurodivergence which is similar to stress and related detriment. So why have the ND people always been ostracised for exhibiting the same symptoms at a more extreme level and why could the neurotypicals always exhibit to whatever level they want, even if detrimental or harmful to others, and the same people wilfully wind the ND's up and complain when they face causality? Of course only a neurotypical would avoid taking accountability. I appreciate its a comedy but the dynamics are baffling. And why does alf still keep being irresponsible given what weighs on his head? Torturing is threatened by the military and he's flippantly testing the family, despite their love for him. And only making an effort when things are extreme. He does have good loving qualities but this is a very dysfunctional family and the parental insistence of rigidity is obviously making a horrific tole on the parents wellbeing in the name of being ordinary. Is this irony what made it a colony?
