Introduction to Mayhem is such a unique groovy album. I remember first hearing them on the radio when they released their first single "violence" i would have been 15 at the time. I had never heard anything like it and at that time was pretty fresh into the metal scene, prior to getting into metal i listened to a lot rap so hearing a blend of the two immediately caught my attention. Once i got my hands on the whole album i listened to it front to back and was instantly a fan! Loose is such a banger and the perfect song to start the record off. The energy of it never lets up i can still listen to this song over and over, it never gets old. Josh McLane on drums nailed the placement and feel for this entire album. Supa Freak Love has to be my next favorite off the album. The main guitar riff on this track is fucking awesome, again unlike anything i had heard before. The turntable scratching that they throw in on multiple tracks was done so well and adds a unique special quality that i feel is a trademark of this album. Its so hard to explain in writing the subtle little touches of songs like Supa Freak Love (specifically the part from 2:49 to 3:10) or Set if Off from (1:33 to 1:47). The way Bobby builds up and then just ripps back into a crunchy riffs is so awesome. The next track G's from (1:40 to 2:07) has such a sick groovy bass lick and Pig's is great as well, these are both bangers especially the way J Sin ends on G's (What a big Piece of Shit MotherFucker!) 🤘 Introduction to Mayhem, Dose which my best friend when i was young loooooved and would play over and over. The Big Fuck You is another good one and then the way they end the album with Tripinthehead coudln't be a more perfect way to end an amazing record. Lines like "See the pieces severed bloody pieces, a lunatic with a pschopath soul" and "I'm not innocent no, I'M JUST CRAZY" are soooo freaking good! The guitars and drums the whole song just keep your head banging and your body moving. Can't say enough good things about this album and wish more people would have been exposed to it. A lot of people talk shit about the Nu metal era but for me I'm so glad I got to grow up in it. A lot of really unique bands came out of this scene and I'm glad I got to live through it. I still listen to a ton of the bands that came out of this era even to this very day, 2023. Primer 55 Introduction to Mayhem will be on my playlist probably till the end of my days. 🤘

the Intro To Mayhem album was one of the heaviest, most intense records I heard at the time of its release. super angry and wild, but also so rockin'

I remember chilling on the Primer 55 tour bus during Ozzfest and who walks on the bus and starts smoking and hanging but Dimebag Darrell!! These guys are awesome and have nothing but great memories and great things to say about all of them. We had hung out a few times back in the day!

BC from HedPE connected me with Bobby and J-Sin back in 2000ish to audition for the drumming position. Bobby was kind enough to fly me out to Louisville for the audition. This was right before they were leaving for the Ozzfest tour in addition to heading to New York, I think that's correct, to record their second album. I auditioned with Bobby and J-Sin and was offered the drumming position. I stayed at Bobby's house for a few days in Louisville during the process and obviously got to meet J-Sin as well. Will never forget we met at Steak 'n Shake the first night and J-Sin even scraped up enough money to buy me dinner at Burger King one of the nights I was there . Bobby and J-Sin were both nice dudes. Was a great experience.

@rocktalks5706 na man I live about an hour south of Columbus, I was a teenager in the late 90s, a lot of acts would play in Huntington wva on Friday night then play Columbus on Saturday, I lived in between the 2 town, and we would catch both stops of the bands tour It was a great era for metal and rock music of all genres
