The average price of a dvd player back then was $192. The average price for ps2 back then was $280. It's time to stop the "cheap dvd player" thing.

Within the first couple of years of the PS2's lifecycle, the cost of DVD players had rapidly dropped to $100 and even as low as $50. Obvs I'm a Sega guy and it still stings that Sony knocked Sega out of the race. The Ps2 is still an amazing console tho.

People in recent years are now realizing that the Dreamcast was ahead of its time but Sega made quite a few mistakes leading up to it and I believe they lost the trust of many gamers.

I just always think of how good the horror selection on the Ps2 was. 5. Fatal Frame 2 4. RE4 3. Silent Hill 4 2. Obscure 1. Manhunt

Obscure was way ahead of its time. The Playstation 2 library was full of classics. I feel I could do a list on each genre.
